Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- SandjayLondon, UK519 contributionsPrior Gardens is a lovely, calm place to visit. There is usually plenty of waterfowl to admire (and photograph) with green space, a formal garden (the roses look great in Summer) and a wild flower bed.Written 2 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - sheepygoldlondon5,502 contributionsI have visited Orpington many times over the years but never realised that this place existed. The building is very unassuming and opening times are restricted so it is easily missed. The museum consists of quite substantial remains which have been supplemented by modern additions to illustrate the heating system for instance. You can have an introductory talk which gives some useful background which is supplemented by the information boards and models on display. There are quite a few activities for children. There is no cafe or toilet here. You will only need 30 to 45 minutes here and the £1.50 entrance charge for adults is fair.Written 17 August 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - james lSevenoaks2 contributionsHave plenty of happy memory’s from this place. It makes me sad to think that I cannot revisit with my children because the scout association has decided to sell it off.Written 8 November 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - chan t2 contributionsThe staff is very knowledgeable and patient! It’s our first time to go there and we definitely will go again. We learn a lot about bugs and got a chance to touch themWritten 2 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jo B16 contributionsYou can drive inside- no toilets. Location is off the beaten track so would not advise visiting alone.Written 19 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- 1934185KentcoupleOrpington, UK462 contributionsThis Commonwealth War Grave is a moving and evocative place to visit which I do every remembrance day. What a lovely turn out of Canadian soldiers and the Canadian Eagle Scout who obtained such a special flag to fly there.
Australian, New Zealand, South African and Irish soldiers are also buried here. Our Australian relatives visited there a few years ago to trace their relative. An important part of local and national history.
Ivy Millichamp, the last civilian to die on British mainland is buried in the civil cemetery and her grave is honoured each year to commemorate all civilians who are the innocent victims of war.
Well worth visiting as is All Saints Church.Written 11 November 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Very weedy beds and expensive shop. No cafe. They are seriously missing a trick here with their customer service.Written 23 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarkOrpington, UK7 contributionsThere is a below par range of shops. The toilets are kept in a fair state of cleanliness. Security staff on hand always good to see.Written 11 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Neil MLondon, UK7 contributionsParking can be awful at peak times. The shops themselves are not bad, so plan your visit mid-week. It is not worth travelling a long way to visit this shopping park.Written 3 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Michael DOrpington, UK1 contributionIts OK for me as I live 7 minutes walk away. As a senior (male) I only pay £3.50 so I shouldn't complain. Its unfair to say that the changing rooms are smelly and dirty. There is a guy continuously cleaning the male changing room. It would be helpful if patrons would refrain from wearing outside footware in the changing area contrary to signage. I've never seen anyone challenged by staff. I always wear designated flip flops only used in the changing room. There can be issues with the lockers jamming. It's best to test with a coin to check the locking mechanism is working. In my experience most of the lockers are OK. I have noticed dirty surface water near the steps into the pool adjacent to the sauna.Written 17 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
