What travellers are saying
- Charlotte MPaisley, UK344 contributionsA perfect reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the City!
Central Park was one of my favourite places on a recent visit to NYC. Full of memories lived through movies & TV - Home Alone, Elf, Gossip girl…to name but a few!
A fantastic place to sit, contemplate and people watch! Musicians playing jazz, dance music and (of course) some John Lennon.
I’d love to visit again in the warmer months and spend a day on sheep meadow 🤩Written 23 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can feel the emotion, fear, and most of all the pulling together of strangers helping one another. Note: they do have tissues & garbage cans to put those tissues in. Worth the trip & everyone should see this.Written 22 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Gustavo C1 contributionI had a great experience with the Empire State Building Gift Shop. I live abroad and had an issue with the delivery of an item. The manager, Mr Randall and his team provided an outstanding service when I needed help with a delay. I could never expect such a high level of commitment and attention. Problem solved, and I strongly recommend the Empire State Building Gift Shop!Written 24 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravelerGabeWellington, CO141 contributionsIt is very interesting being able to get on a ferry and approach the island. Once you are on the island you can explore various parts and take an audio tour of the cell house. Just note that most of the island is off-limits as it is a bird sanctuary.
I especially found exploring the cell house pretty neat as it is pretty quiet due to everyone listening to the audio tour in their headset. You can go in the solitary confinement cell for example, which was cool.
Overall the experience was great! Even better if you go when the marine layer comes into the bay area!Written 24 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Staff/volunteers were extremely helpful with maps and information. We only had a few hour window so focused on the Egyptian and Armoury exhibits as well as the 19th and early 20th century European Paintings. We stumbled upon a young man who was sitting on the floor infront of a large painting and explained he was part of the 8 week Copyist Program at the Met that allows artists to sit in galleries during certain days and times to copy/paint works of art to improve their own techniques. It was a neat opportunity to watch him paint.
We did not know which day we wanted to go to the Met so did not buy tickets in advance and thought we would just purchase upon entry. The admission line was very long so we purchased tickets online with the Met’s free wifi while waiting in line which saved us a bunch of time. Recommend buying tickets in advance, even if just minutes before you arrive.Written 23 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The fans are passionate, the stadium looks beautiful, and the stadium is in a ridiculously accessible location. There are plenty of sports bars, restaurants, concert venues, hotels, stores, and almost anything you could ask for just steps outside of the gates.Written 26 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Magnolia FAmsterdam, The Netherlands4 contributionsThe observation deck at Rockefeller Center is an amazing spot with an incredible view of New York City. From the top, you can enjoy a 360-degree panoramic view of the city, including famous landmarks like Central Park, the Empire State Building, and the Statue of Liberty. The atmosphere is special – there are great facilities for taking beautiful photos and enjoying the view at any time of day. The staff is friendly, and the lines move quickly. This is one of the best places in New York to take in the city from above, and I highly recommend visiting it!Written 26 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DutchMachineCalgary, Canada553 contributionsReally enjoyed the park. Most of the rides were fun. Some of the rides can use an overhaul (minions and simpsons).
Wish the park had more rollercoasters (can't wait for F&F coaster).
Some staff members weren't overly friendly (at the popcorn stands)
The Studio tour was cool.
The Mario area is meh. The theme is nice, the ride is okay, but the upcharge on some mini games is outrageous.
Would be nice if the stores were open longer after park hours so you can shop without being rushed.Written 15 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SamLondon, UK191 contributionsWonderful experience we booked are tickets online so we could do the crown tour book in advance becomes these tickets go quickly. the ferry ride was very good and smooth it has a shop in side that sells snacks. as you get closer to the statue it’s breathtaking. The best part was the crown pedestal you have to climb about 300 stairs to get to the top but it was worth it the views were amazing special things to the guy at the top who helped us to take some beautiful pictures there is a elevator if you don’t fancy the stairs the museum is worth visiting and the restaurant food was decent. Just be ready to join the queue get get back on to the ferry as it can be longWritten 25 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Patrick HIndiana16 contributionsVery unique, relaxing, and fun park.
Like me, many people will get sticker shock when they see the admission price. There are many videos posted online for Discovery Cove with “Is It Worth the Cost?” in the title.
My answer is Yes. At least if you are planning to include the dolphin swim package.
Our local zoo offers an in-water dolphin adventure for $275 per person. By comparison, for around the same cost (or less when on sale), Discovery Cove offers the same thing (or probably better) plus the day pass to the whole all-inclusive park. For not much more, you can get 14 days of access to the other Sea World affiliated parks in Orlando.
The only thing we got from Discovery Cove that I felt was overpriced was the photo package. It’s a “family” package that includes pictures of everyone in your group doing the different interactions with the dolphin. Since it was just my wife and I, there were less interactions and fewer photos needed for our group. Seems like we should’ve got a break on the cost for that. Maybe $50 per person for the photo package would be more reasonable and equitable for couples. If the package cost is being averaged out by group size, it’s not really fair for couples to
All the animal interactions and animal-care staff were excellent! Snorkeling in the reef, feeding birds in the aviary, and relaxing on the wind-away river were all amazing experiences! We purchased the Animal Trek upgrade and feel it was worth it. We got to meet some exotic birds and a sloth up-close, pet an armadillo, and even have a Military Macaw fly to and land on our arm.
Prior to going, I found several reviews that complained about the quality of food in the included breakfast and lunch buffets. However, we had no issues with the food quality and found it comparable to the buffets on a cruise ship. The recommendation I would make to the park management regarding the buffet meals is regarding the staff, not the food.
Almost every Discovery Cove employee we interacted with demonstrated outstanding levels of customer service. From the check-in hosts, to the amenity managers, the animal-care team members, to the bartenders, and the gift shop attendant… they were all really great! However, the buffet staff were somewhat unwelcoming and appeared unhappy in their work. Having worked in the hospitality industry, this stood out to my wife and I as an obvious area for improvement. Perhaps if the buffet staff were friendlier, patrons would not rate the food so harshly. Just an observation.
The final suggestion I would make to Discovery Cove management would be to include a single designated smoking area inside the actual park. It’s a pretty long hike out to the main entrance by the parking lot. Maybe a secluded area could be squeezed in somewhere near the bar at Serenity Bay. It was abundantly clear by the afternoon that there were many adult patrons in this area taking full advantage of the alcoholic beverage package upgrade. While it confused me as to why anyone would want to spend an expensive day at this type of park inebriated, I think if you’ve got an area where adults are slurring and stumbling back and forth between the bar and the beach, you might as well have some place for adults to smoke a cigarette, too.
Overall, we had a great time at Discovery Cove and do recommend it. The lack of lines and ability to see and even interact with so many animals makes it a truly special experience.Written 19 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
