This is a fantastic venue for those in the area of Barrow-in-Furness. Lovely detailed models on display and some really interesting exhibitions too. Parking is free and there is no admission charge although our donation was gratefully received

I have always loved visiting Furness Abbey. The only thing missing is some information boards I was disappointed that practically nothing was available to read as you walk around the site. Feels like I was being forced to buy the information guide and somehow that feels wrong.

What a wild, amazing place. Beautiful scenery, spotted a couple of seals in the water, lots of different birds, views of Piel Castle. Both salt water and fresh water lagoons. Lots of wild flowers. Good paths. Magic.

Walks, flowers, ornamental lake, views and a miniature railway operated on Sundays by a local engineering club all in an extensive and impressive park setting, designed by Thomas Mawson in 1908, and which has won national awards.

At the highest point of the park is the impressive cenotaph, the gift of Barrow Hematite Steel Company, which was unveiled in 1921, listing the names of 584 Barrovians who lost their lives in the First World War. Later, the names of 297 local servicemen who lost their lives in the Second World War were added to the memorial. It also commemorates 6 soldiers killed in the later Korean War and is a Grade 2 Listed monument.

The park also had its own sports facilities such as bowls and tennis plus the town's Leisure Centre with sports, pool and fitness facilities and the Pulse Soccer and Fitness Centre who operate casual bookings, 5-aside leagues and birthday parties on the centre's artificial pitches.

Visited here to watch the sunset whilst staying in barrow in Furness. Lovely beach with great views. There was some kid doing doughnuts in his car on a near by car park though which was odd.

Lancashire Hotpots gig in April 2022. The venue was set up for a seated audience and appeared to be a full house. Comfortable seating, with room to stand for audience participation. Good venue and good acoustics. Great gig, although some of the audience complained that the bar ran out of beer at half time, although I cannot confirm this!

On a recent visit to my sister I had to print off my boarding card. Could I find an internet cafe anywhere-no. Along to the library I went and after becoming a Member (free) I was allowed access to the very good internet facilities. The staff were very helpful and although my visit was short even a quick look around told me that there is a lot here of interest to the reader, learner or information seeker. Thoroughly recommend

We watched in splendour as this great facade loomed above us, in amongst the modern day shopping units. The clock tower alone is magnificent.

This is a weird building! It has cafe, playzone, laser, all sorts of a mix and match! Big building been converted. The playzone is very good and the party was well organised. The staff member hosting the party was excellent! Very patient and did an excellent job with all the kids. Think perhaps food could be a little better, but okay. Good place for kids!

With the weather being bad today I decided to take a visit to Barrow Market Hall. So glad I did. I managed to get all my shopping all under one roof. So many great stalls and knowledgeable traders. The market is a fantastic place to visit. Many towns have lost their market. Barrow are lucky to have their own market. With the decline of the high street in many towns it was great to see so many stalls in Barrow Market. Next time your are in town pop in to the market and give it a try. You’ll be glad you popped in.

This is a rare example now of a three sided ground in England. It's patchy, quirky, untidy in parts, yet with a newish stand.
The atmosphere v Orient was good and it was a good match. I hear that there are plans to knock down some buildings and replace them....in this case it maybe a good idea as attendances are going up.
It's a short walk from the centre of town which is a big plus point.
The programme was £3 which for thirty pages was not good value.

This is an old village with vir nothing to offer. Family lives nearby but don't know why. It's a worthless location.

Last I ahve visited this place twice as a solo traveller and with a group of friends. I loved it. This place is in Crumbia and it is western most point of lake district, Walney, a small island connected through bridge to the main land. It is beautiful pebble beach and lines of windfirm can be seen from the beach.
