Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What a wonderful gem, this museum is an amazing find in terms of variety, information, presentation and attention to detail. Having a lovely warm welcome, I could have whiled away hours on the various exhibits, display rooms and cabinets, reading about the history of the place, the people, the industries, poring over the photos. A lot of time effort and care have gone into making this museum a must-visit place for all ages. I particularly loved the medicine cabinet display around the whole of reception, and the Victorian rooms, as well as the clan history information, and will definitely be back. Very reasonably priced and in a wonderful central location, the castle and gardens which can be seen from the ferry ride over really made my stay in Dunoon. A big thankyou to all who contribute their time and thought to creating and maintaining this masterpiece, it alone makes a visit to Dunoon well worthwhile.

Such a lovely park, well planned out. We were thrilled to see a red squirrel immediately after the entrance kiosk! We had a beautiful walk around the park. It was longer and much more hilly and full of steps than anticipated. This meant that it was really interesting to explore. We were slightly concerned that my 79 year old mum with her walking stick would struggle. She managed it and enjoyed it, but was very tired after! We loved the poetry hut and sat reading all the quotes. This park is well worth the visit, particularly because of the giant medal winning trees and glorious rhododendrons which were just incredible. A really special place.

Absolutely stunning. This was recommended as a visit by a local of Dunoon. Great for the kids, had fun stone skimming. Water access for kids and dog. Only five minutes out of Dunoon. Free car parking.

To be honest, there isn't a lot left of the C11th castle apart from a few ruins around the flagpole. But it is worth the climb for the views across Dunoon.

Pretty attractive garden. Very worth visiting even in a rainy wet day. Very narrow roads and parking is a short walk away. Beautiful garden.

There are no real puffins (sorry spoiler alert). Enjoyed this quirky find, it’s not a day out but a handy passer-by stop.

Mary Campbell was born in Dunoon and became famous because of Robert burns poetry.
While she was working in Ayrshire, she met Robert burns where they handfasted and planned to emigrate to Jamaica, but sadly mary died at the age of 23.
The statue was placed here 100 years after her death.

We were there on a school holidays and popped in at the start to find out about opening times and were given a leaflet which explaied what was on and when. Depending on the days there was flume, big floats sessions etc . Some of these were only for 8 years old plus.
The changing rooms and kids pools were as you would expect but they kids pool had a wee slide which was great for the little ones.
