What travellers are saying
- suzy111112222Dunstable, UK84 contributionsCame in a rainy day, mostly inside things to see. So much to read and discover. The letters and informative writing by each person brings it alive and was the highlight for me.Written 2 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Malcolm L3 contributionsAdventure park with mixed activities for all the family. It took a lot to get the children away from the slides and climbing activities but a welcome venue to explore and enjoy despite the landscaping works blocking the entrancewayWritten 1 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rebecca P1 contributionLovely, unpretentious venue for a gorgeously festive winter gig by The Unthanks. A beautiful evening and perfect start to the Christmas festivities. Thank you, Quarterhouse!Written 10 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- HalyconDaysGreater London, UK161 contributionsGreat views from The Lees. a lovely walk with plenty to see. It was a shame the historic hotels The Metropole and Grand are no longer hotels, but the buildings are still there with a lot of history> Plenty of seating.Written 21 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KentEnglandLifeChatham, UK2,681 contributionsTook a walk along the harbour arm, past the old railway station. They have done a great job bringing life back to this part of Folkestone. Many places to eat and drink then just go for a stroll. Watch out for the seagulls they seem to have no fear !Written 3 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RichardrcckMaidstone, UK45 contributionsWhy is that local council cannot see the attraction to this great piece of engineering and local history. Fingers crossed that they will realise what an asset the old lift is. Maybe encourage the developers of Shore to support it as they must have greased a few palms to build in such a prime locationWritten 2 August 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Val B10 contributionsWe have visited many vineyards..both in England and Champagne, and this is the first time we have seen the disgorgement process done manually , what a treat .
It was informative and friendly - accompanied by excellent wine and a lovely cheeseboard.
We also liked the whole ethos behind the wine production and care for the environment.

The walk from Sandgate to Folkestone along the sea took us about 40 mins, ok on way there but v v v blustery on way back. Was also dark and not lit at 4.30pm so wouldn’t recommend walking back unless you are in a big group or later in the year. No toilets on walk but one cafe half way along.Written 21 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Catherine FCanterbury, UK11 contributionsThe Sunny Sands are great for everyone, young and old, however the toilets by the fish market are awful. They are outdated and need modernising. When I used them they were unclean, one door didn't lock, one had a toilet seat missing, there was no soap in the dispenser, no toilet paper in at least 2 of the toilets. Goodness knows why they can't kept clean and maintained properly. Visitors must be very disappointed to say the least. Folkestone has so much to offer but let down by this kind of situation.
Come on Folkestone Council if Hastings (always clean loos and plenty of them) can do it why can't you ? .........Written 30 December 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The prices have got really expensive and the frequency of trains less, probably because there are now less customers due to the cost. All the trains are in need of replacement and the toilets are mostly out of order. I understand that the Border queue delays are out of Le Shuttle’s control, but whether you depart on time is largely a matter of luck.Written 14 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our little ones really enjoyed the train ride.Written 8 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We loved the quirky shops in the creative quarter. Plenty to enjoy and look at, cafe's to eat out, all leading down to the lovely seaside and amazing harbour arm. My daughter described Folkestone as like the love child of Southend-on-Sea and Brighton, and I knew what she meant!!!!!!Written 26 August 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
