Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Beautiful Park! The sculptures are amazing, even for our teen daughter. She also had a laugh with some of them. Really worth the visit.

Visited today , and of course had to climb up on the roof for that fabulous view. ( easy climb) it’s easy on the eye. And a nice transition from the water. I imagine in winter it could almost be hidden if the snow came. Inside was vast with clean lines. Coat racks were vast and no security. Couldn’t happen like that in my country.
    Impressive

In the several rooms of this interesting museum are presented sculptures and models that were created by well-known Norwegian artist Gustav Vigeland. There are concepts of sculptures that are now part of the bridge, fountain and obelisk in the park in Frogner in Oslo. Furthermore, in the museum are also several models that were never realised on the full scale (some of them showing Vigeland's visions of heroes of sagas and Eddic poems).

Our cruise ship was docked in the fjord for 2 days. We did a one and a half hour electric cruise around the fjords in Oslo. It was very quiet but also extremely slow which was a bit frustrating. And the other people on the cruise were very noisy so it took away from the beautiful views. watching fjords for the two days, show that this area is vibrant and extremely busy in the harbour area. There are massive fairies going to other countries and smaller fairies going to the small islands it’s very interesting to watch

You can't go in the castle, but it's a nice walk around the bastions and you get a great view of the harbor and there's no charge to walk the grounds. There is a little museum at the visitor's center which told about the queen who had lived there to give context. The Norwegian Resistance Museum does have an entrance fee, but the way everything about the Norwegian resistance movement is presented with dioramas and papers and documents is really well done and worth the admission price. There are guided tours during the summer, so you should check the website for the timing.

I took Bus # 30 to visit this attraction. The street is narrow and our bus had to wait for the big tour bus to pass by becore we could proceed.

There are many sailboats docked at the left side as we drive by. The neighborhood appears to be for the wealthy as most houses are big.

I visited 3 museums here: Fram, Kon-Tiki, and Maritime Museum. The views behind the Fram and Maritime Museums are beautiful. There are some statues of explorers near the FRAM Miseum. There are areas to watch the boats in the water, a cruise ship, etc.

We spent much of a day visiting the Gardens. There was a small café for drinks and light snacks. Plenty of space to walk on pathways and most of the plants are very well marked.

Beautiful area and great looking palace. When we went we had just missed the changing of the guards but to my surprise the king and queen came out and watched a military show. Pretty amazing and the gardens are great

This statue park is a good foil for Vigelandsparken.. this one has many artists over many years with each piece standing alone. It’s easy to get to the park by tram. Before you come, take a picture of the map to know where you are going and maybe look online to pick out which is the pieces you want to walk to. Be aware that there are not a lot of bathrooms and these will cost you to enter. And.. museum and cafe are not open everyday. You could spend many hours here and get a lot of hiking done as well.

You will anyway come close to the Palace, so it is clearly worthy to take a walk through this amazing park.

The sculptures are very interesting and the setting is lovely with great views of the harbor. Make sure you check the artwork map, as one of the installations is easy to miss because you think it is a concrete bunker that is part of the harbor and another is an installation hanging on the side of a building.

Tons of restaurants, the sculpture park, the art museum, and lovely views of the harbor make it a great place to walk around. Plus, there is a little beach where you can swim.

The Bergen Railway line is worth taking for the amazing scenery alone. As we left Oslo, we were eventually treated with beautiful views of lakes, rivers and meadows. We then started to see snow in mid June as we climbed the mountains. We were also very excited when the conductor allowed those that wanted to get off in the village of Finse, the railway’s highest elevation. Even though we only had five minutes, we took pictures and threw a snowball. After five hours we disembarked in Myrdal for the Flam Railway. Our reserved round trip tickets were part of a Norway in a Nutshell touring package. The first ride was on a 5:30am train and it was an amazing experience. Then after spending several days exploring western Norway, we took the reverse trip on the evening train back to Oslo, arriving at 10:30pm. I would suggest bringing food onto the train since the cafe car has limited offerings. Unfortunately the cafe car is where we also experienced rude staff. The train was clean and we appreciated the reclining seats. Their plus seating is also available to reserve which would be good for families with small children but it didn’t look like the seating would adjust. The train has space for overhead carryons and luggage storage areas but they fill up fast. Traveling light will make it easier to maneuver on and off the train. I would definitely recommend the Bergen Railway to view the beauty of Norway!
