Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We spent much of a day visiting the Gardens. There was a small café for drinks and light snacks. Plenty of space to walk on pathways and most of the plants are very well marked.

A truly spectacular place if you're a nature lover. Beautiful lake, lots of waterfowl, a peaceful place to clear your mind or enjoy a break from the city. Wonderful for running as well.

This statue park is a good foil for Vigelandsparken.. this one has many artists over many years with each piece standing alone. It’s easy to get to the park by tram. Before you come, take a picture of the map to know where you are going and maybe look online to pick out which is the pieces you want to walk to. Be aware that there are not a lot of bathrooms and these will cost you to enter. And.. museum and cafe are not open everyday. You could spend many hours here and get a lot of hiking done as well.

Took Metro to the end of the line at Frognerseteren and then followed signposts for an enjoyable 10KM walk down through the forest to rejoin a metro stop lower down. Tranquil forest with easy to follow trails. Came to great view over Oslo and also across to the ski jump. So close to the city and yet so much in the countyside.

Loved this place. We took the ferry over and it was a beautiful day. Hiked around the island for a bit and then went into the fortress. The fortresss does a great job of telling the story of the importance of the fortress. Awesome place and awesome piece of history

Lots of fun both as a get-to-know activity and as bonding with friends:) Clues are interesting, varied, and appropriately scary (we completed the mental hospital room) with hosts Malin and Marianne who were friendly and accommodating. Thanks!

Opening the handle to the wee door and stepping into the darkness before your eyes adjust is such a freaky feeling. The skeleton mural above the ashes at the door is beautiful. So much detail to look at. The acoustics in the room are so unique, wish I could have attended one of the concerts here.

This museum consists of two main exhibitions. First, close to the entrance, is dedicated mainly to the international missions in which the Norwegian Armed Forces participated in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The second part is focused on the presentation of weaponry and equipment from the medieval period to the early 21st century. It is enriched by films and dioramas. In the museum could be also found the exhibition dedicated to the history of the Norwegian monarchy.

On the ground floor, it is also a cafe offering warm and cold drinks as well as various snacks.

    Cute street for pictures.
Small street with cute little cottage doll size homes. Be mindful, residents actually live here so don’t go overboard with photo session.

Oscarshall is a very nice historical place to visit. iI may not have a very deep history being about 150 yo, but still creates a very special environment, In addition to great Gothic architecture, you may enjoy a very nice garden, Oscarshall is worth visiting.

It's a short distance outside of Oslo by tram but it's worth the visit, a great selection of trams and bus's from which you can climb on board and imagine travelling back in time and being a passenger. A small gift shop with drinks available , the gentleman on the counter spoke good English and explained a bit of history of the Oslo transport network.

Next to in Vulkan and mathallen you will find a door that leads to an elevator that takes you to the eighth floor and the secret rooftop bar in this area. There are usually know science this is a local secret but ask any other bar for the location they will gladly help you to find the secret elevator.

Here you can drink champagne wine and beer until the late hours in the summer sun

Impressive collection of creatures not just reptiles in a small space. Entrance was a bit hard to find as you enter from an inner courtyard. We especially enjoyed the veiled chameleon – it was fascinating the way that the eyes moved independently and reminded us of Miss Crawly from the movie Sing. We were also able to hold a large snake. The menacing 5 foot Cuvier's dwarf caiman (crocodile) eerily stared at us with his head just above the water and the rest of his body submerged. We spent about 30 minutes enjoying all the rare creatures but it felt overpriced as it was about twice the cost of the National Museum but this may be the going rate for activities in Oslo.
