Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Eddie TCalgary, Canada99 contributionsQuirky, eclectic neighbourhood. Probably the most lively neighbourhood we encountered in Oslo. It helped that we visited on a day when a festival was happening right at Olaf Ryes Plass, so we probably experienced a higher level of vibrancy than what is typical in the area. There were food trucks and street vendors all over the place, but there were also established restaurants that seemed to be popular and offered a great variety of cuisines to choose from.
This is a good area to check out for those looking to experience a more "real" side of Oslo, where locals hang out away from the touristy beaten path.Written 8 June 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Named in honour of Hannibal Sehested, son-in-law of Christian IV and Governor of Norway, apparently it was inspired by the Parisian Place Vendôme.
