Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

One of the main thoroughfares in Oslo with lots of shops and restaurants which leads to the royal palace and the parliament building is located on it. So you’ll definitely be visiting during an Oslo stay.

I liked the statue in front of the hall. Inside there are many restaurants to choose from. We didn't eat here but it was good to see.

I was surprised to see the big statue of former US president here. There must be some story behind this, his statue being on the path to the Akerhaus Fortress and Castle.

I took several pictures here and briefly sat down at the bench to enjoy rhe views.

Interesting seeing the change of guards. There weren’t so many people around so could get close. If you do see it then go to the right of the palace for the best views. Not a huge ceremony but worth looking at if nearby.

One of the most important squares in Oslo. Beautiful, especially if you look towards the sea. Looking in the opposite direction, rather trivial. Dominated by the imposing town hall building, massive, but I wouldn't say beautiful. Also here is the Nobel Peace Center, housed in a not-so-impressive building. Also here you find the National Museum, which is to be inaugurated these days. The most interesting part is the touristic port, from where you go on cruises on the fjord or to the Bygdoy peninsula.

A very beautiful and impressive building that you cannot miss and must be also a dream from the inside!

Nothing out of the ordinary. A banal pavilion located near the National Theater. You take a look at it and that's all.

Brannvakten is located on Karl Johans gate next to Oslo Cathedral. It is a red-brick neo-romantic style building completed in 1856 in connection with the Bazaars.

After the big city fire in 1858, better fire service was set up. The city's water supply was expanded and the fire corps had a 24-hour lookout point from the cathedral tower.

Old clock in a building on the Karl Johans Gate. It caught my attention and it was useful to know the time. Gives an historical touch to the street

Originally a storage house built in the 1920's but now used as offices, so it's not really an attraction you can enter. But if you like historical buildings and taking pictures, you may find it worthwhile a visit. It is located just across the Opera and you'll get a good picture of it from the Opera's roof top.

Along the pier you'll also find SALT, probably Oslo's best place to find nice and price-worthy street food.
