I visited on a beautiful sunny winter's day and the the walk up the hill, the glorious views from the top, the exquisite architecture and of course the hot chocolate on the Cafe Terrace made it a perfect trip.

Earlier in the month we had visited the St. Gallen monastery library in St. Gallen, Switzerland because it was a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our teenage son was skeptical at first was was interested in the biological museum on site, and when he saw the library he was floored like the rest of us.

A wonderful spot to sit and ponder life as you view its beautiful centre altar.
The church was built between 1623 and 1627 on the site of an earlier chapel and was built at the time when the Jesuits were the dominant force behind the Counter-Reformation.

The treasury of the Hapsburg dynasty is beyond impressive--every room is filled with bigger and better sites, centuries of treasures plundered and stashed away by one of the most powerful families in history.
There are so many wonderful sights in Vienna but the Treasury houses some of the most spectacular items I have seen.
