Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Follow a dirt track off-road to a carpark, followed by a really interesting and beautiful walk. In May there was water in the Gorge and parts are slippy.. also looks quite rock-slide prone so do be careful.

Very nice clean shopping mall with a few shops and places to eat. My favourite retail outlet 'ZARA' was so excited to go and shop. Staff were all friendly, also love Pull & Bear. There is a Costa and Starbucks. Kids shops, sports shops, supermarket and clothes shops a nice small range of shops under one roof. Decor is beautiful too, car park at the basement of the shopping mall. Also has free wifi! Use the taxis at the end by Starbucks and try to book a return fair as it is much cheaper.

We visited a few years ago with our brother & sister in law.

We just turned up butc we were made to feel very welcome & we're given a tour of the winery before settling down to the serious business of some wine tasting.

A really great chance to sample some great Cypriot wines.

We had a wonderful time at Lara Bay during our stay in Cyprus. The route there was tricky, especially as there are current works ongoing and our sat nav was advising us to pass through road closures, however, once we reached the beach front itself, it was a remarkable experience. The beach itself was Sandy and the waters were so calm and clear. One of us was a nervous swimmer and throughly enjoyed the calmness of the waters and how clear they were. We sadly didn’t get to spot any turtles, but then again, we wouldn’t wish to disrupt or disturb nature. We had a wonderful experience all in all and would highly recommend a visit though not to the detriment or disruption of nature.

For fans of Saint Paul (like me) visiting Saint Paul's pillar is an absolute must. When I went there in September the whole basilica area was a complete mess of road construction and actually finding the place was quite difficult. What you see is a relatively modern although attractive church built over the ruins of a 4th century basilica. You walk around the site on a series of raised walkways looking down at patchy mosaics and the rather confusing layout of the early church. We know from Acts 13: 4-12 that Saint Paul did visit Cyprus and visited Paphos, so it is quite possible that he may have visited this site before any of the buildings and ruins we now see were constructed. Whether he was actually whipped against the pillar which is labelled as Saint Paul's pillar is much more speculative. We do have evidence from the Bible that Paul was whipped and beaten because he says so in 2 Corinthians 11. But we don't have any evidence (except a local tradition) that he received 39 lashes against this particular pillar in Paphos. Sorry if this is a spoiler!

This church is well worth a visit even if you are not religious and that would be because of the history and archaeology of the place.
There is an information board outlining the history and phases of construction as well as pointing out where St Paul was, apparently, tied to a pillar and whipped.
There are mosaics and lots of pillars of differing stone and the foundations of an earlier even larger church can be seen.
In order to try to protect the mosaics and the church environs a raised walkway has been constructed to take visitors from near the entrance to the site to the church door. Unfortunately, when we visited this walkway was blocked off but no reason was posted on the site to give a reason why that had been done. As a result we were unable to enter the church itself.
The area is popular with the local cat population by the way and the seem to be semi feral at least.
Finally, there is no charge for visiting the site.

We were staying at the St George Hotel Spa and Beach Resort so this was the nearest beach for us.

Yes its rocky and a bit slippery but if you have water shoes it's not a problem and just adds to the fun you just need to be careful.
Once in the water its a great little spot and if you enjoy a bit of snorkeling there are quite a few fish to see as the water is very clean and clear.

There is a man made breakwater to make it a bit calmer so very safe for swimming. We spent a couple of afternoons enjoying ourselves here just swimming and snorkeling as this isn't a large beach there isn't much space for sunbathing and there are no sunbeds available only those for use by hotel guests.

We entered this shop November 2022 and regretted not buying anything as all their work was stunning. Since then we returned this May (2024) and purchased a personalised wooden art block with mine and my partners name on with the date we were married as well as blue Cypriot glass in a wedding pose for the middle. The service is amazing, they let you browse without being interrupted. We will definitely return again!

St Solomons Catacombs is an easy walk uphill from the harbour, Paphios is rich in archaeology and history. The catacombs are a good experience and free to go into, The view from the top is good and you can get your bearings to visit other historical locations.

One day we hired a car and went to St George's. This lovely little church is beautifully located and was an interesting stop on our travels, toilets are over the road as is a couple of shops.
