Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great place to swim and sunbathing, plenty of restaurants, souvenir shops and mini markets around, good access to the sea, we recommend it.

We were staying at the St George Hotel Spa and Beach Resort so this was the nearest beach for us.

Yes its rocky and a bit slippery but if you have water shoes it's not a problem and just adds to the fun you just need to be careful.
Once in the water its a great little spot and if you enjoy a bit of snorkeling there are quite a few fish to see as the water is very clean and clear.

There is a man made breakwater to make it a bit calmer so very safe for swimming. We spent a couple of afternoons enjoying ourselves here just swimming and snorkeling as this isn't a large beach there isn't much space for sunbathing and there are no sunbeds available only those for use by hotel guests.

this is a beautiful beach, it was very clean when we visited and had a beautiful view out over the ocean, it was a little smaller than expected and unfortunately the restaurant was closed when we visited in January

Stunning beach. Views are incredible, especially on a day with a clear blue sky the sea looks amazing. Loungers and parasol €2.50 each. Small shack for drinks and an ice cream truck situated above the beach. One of my favourite places in paphos.

Tired of packed beaches, full of expensive sun loungers and noisy people?
Head off to Toxeftra beach on the Akamas peninsula. It's just past where the tarmac finishes, along a dirt track on the way to Lara beach, which is also worth a visit. Despite being on a dirt road, you don't need a 4x4 to get there.
This beach has few people, loads of free parking and is sandy, except just as you enter the water.
On the day we visited, there were plenty of big waves and as the beach shelves quite steeply once you are in the water, the waves break quite close to the beach. My two teenage daughters and I had a good hour in the sea, being pummeled by the waves. You can swim 20m out and get lifted up high as the waves come in, or lie in the shallows and get tossed around as the waves break over you. Great fun.
There are no amenities here though - we bought some cheap parasols to get some shade (there's no natural shade), and you'll need your own food & drink.
For some people this will sound like hell, but for everyone else, get yourself down there!

Friday 14th October and we were walking along Paphos Promenade and we visited this beach

It is located at the opposite end of the Bay from the Harbour, a bit further along from the Municipal Beach.

It is a purpose built man-made beach, the walled in golden sand area, is across the promenade from the sea.

It was possible to hire sunbeds here, €2.50 each, umbrellas €2.50, towels €2.50 each. It was also possible to hire a safe deposit box, yes you have guessed it, for €2.50.

It did appear to be bit compact with the beds rather close to each other, not much personal space.

There are a number of bars and restaurants around and visitors can get drinks served at their sunbeds.

The bathing area is protected by two man-made promentaries of rock and stone, which forms a lagooon. This provided a safe and calm place to swim. Access to the sea was down several sets of steps from the promenade or alteternativelty across the rocky headland.

The wall running along the top of the bathing area was covered in graffiti made the area look a bit tatty

While most visitors used the Beach facilities, others chose to spread out on the rocks by the water's edge rather than use the sandy bit the other side of the Promenade.

Nearby there were a number of purpose built permanent shower cubicle as well as changing kiosks.

Just down the promenade from the beach there were some permanent exercise equipment.

From here there were views across the Bay to the Harbour and Paphos Castle within it.

Beach is practically in the city, sandy beach with umbrellas 3 m from the sea. Only minus is windy weather that is probably just that day and seaweed. But I mist say that we saw lifeguard and a guy who is renting umbrellas and cleaning seaweed all the time so this is a huge + to see that somebody is actually taking care about the beach. For us thisnis recommendation, we have been with 3 year old kid

This beach is NOT wheelchair accessible- despite many websites stating that it is. There are ramps down to the sand but that's where it ends - either with several steps (there are boardwalks across the sand but you can't get to them because of the steps) or on to sand/rocks with no boardwalk. However, did have a lovely promenade along the walkway running along the top of the beach. No idea where the "floating wheelchair" is supposed to be - but I wouldn't have been able to get to it anyway. All the elements for an accessible beach were there - just not joined up to make it actually accessible for a wheelchair user.

Beautiful remote little working harbour. If you get up early enough to visit when the fishermen come in you might be lucky enough to see a turtle swimming round. Just remember to be respectful and not feed them.
