Amazing place to visit where the Knights of St John were established, lots of murals, paintings and artefacts to view we had a guide who talked us through the range of artefacts and history which was fascinating.
The latter covers historical information regarding the site, the country, Christian influence, and art (including the stunning painting of "The Beheading of St. John the Baptist by famous artist Caravaggio).

#5 of 214 Sights & Landmarks in Island of Malta
We went towards the end of our holiday having seen many sights, exhibitions and presentations previously and yet the tour of the tunnels still taught us so much that was new.
It also means you have the opportunity to view the information panels and small exhibits relating to the Saluting Battery as part of the tour price.
Mosta Parish Mosta
#6 of 214 Sights & Landmarks in Island of Malta
This is church famous for its magnificent dome, and for being the site where in WW2, a large axis bomb came through the beautiful painted ceiling, and landed in amongst the assembled congregation.
The church’s circular design with a six-columned portico was closely based on the Pantheon in Rome, and the great dome – a prominent landmark (its external height is 61m) – is visible from most parts of Malta.

We went to Malta in early April (2016) and fortunately, even though there are countless museums and historic sites on this incredible little island, chose this one.
