Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I very very highly recommend this company. Yesterday we went on the whale watching tour which was amazing, the guides were perfect and all staff on board were very friendly and knowledgeable. We managed to see multiple Humpback whales and we found the company very ethical as they kept their space from the whales and were respectful of them. Since we enjoyed this tour so much we decided to book to go on the Northern Lights tour with them later in the evening, this was also amazing, the guide again was amazing, and we managed to see the lights, they even stayed out later so everyone could enjoy the show. After a bad experience with BusTravel Iceland we were hesitant to book any other excursions but Special Tours Iceland have absolutely made our trip and we are very grateful

This was an incredible experience! There is always a chance of not seeing anything, but we got to spend time with 3 humpback whales and even saw one of them breach! The crew was knowledgeable, the boat felt secure, the seats were comfortable, and the equipment provided. Help me stay warm. I definitely recommend this activity!

Excellent service, friendly staff and the main guide (the Italian gentleman) was very informative and provided good information. We were lucky enough to spot a few whales & dolphins out in the bay. Wrap up warm, it is cold but so worth it.

What a wonderful experience! The crisp sea air refreshing your soul, with the added bonus of seeing some magnificent beautiful whales! ☺️

The yacht was great with a fabulous informative captain, the drinks in the bar were also very reasonably priced.

Great memories made on a trip we will never forget!

    Thanks David and Sylwia

Amazing fishing trip just outside of Reykjavik!

We were a bit worried when there was no one called "Happy Tours" (we booked through "Guide to Iceland") but by asking around at the dock, we found the Elding booth and got directed to our boat, the Saga. We had the full 15 people on board, and it was a lovely sunny day with very little wind.

We saw only a single puffin flying by, so I'm glad we weren't expecting more in that category.

We stopped at one location where I caught the only two fish (pollack) and then we moved to another spot. Immediately, every single person had a fish on the line. It was incredible! We fished for what felt like 2 hours in this location alone, catching a ton and keeping until we had enough to eat.

The gear was fine, some of the reels were what my fishing pro partner would call "crunchy" but the thing that made it exceptional was the staff, especially Oscar. He did all the dirty work of taking the fish off the line and moved so quickly that we were back in the water mere moments later. It was the perfect balance of physical exertion / ownership over your catch but also not actually needing any technical skill. He did say that the ~200 fish our group caught that day was very unusual - we had multiple times where more than one person caught two fish on the line as they were reeling it in!

Lunch on the way back, grilled fish and potato salad, was delicious, and we even got to keep some fish to bring back to our apartment to cook later (we just had to tell them in advance how much we wanted).

Highly recommend, for even casual fishers!

Just the best fly fishing outfit in Iceland. Brilliant communications, excellent guides and a lovely atmosphere. We fished West Ranga for salmon and the guiding was just superb. Highly recommended

The two of us spent two incredible days touring Iceland with Pétur Benedikt, owner of Icelandic Elements. He was everything you could hope for in a guide - knowledgeable, personable, accommodating, helpful, on time, and a careful driver. In addition, he had a wonderful sense of humor, clearly loves sharing his country with visitors, and cheerfully answered our myriad questions about everything from geothermal energy and restaurants to the political system, sports, and trolls.

Thank you Iceland Moments! In the space of 4 days that they planned beautifully for us, we hiked on an ice glacier, explored a lava cave, swam in a geothermal pool, and saw the Northern Lights (I do not think they planned the surprisingly clear skies, but who knows?). There was, of course, much more, but every interaction with an Iceland Moment staff member or guide was smooth and a pleasure, and every place or experience they suggested was a very good one. I strongly recommend this company!

The worst part about writing a review is that the Holiday is over.... I was fortunate enough to have two trips to Iceland this year and both spent with Gummi, Eiki and Gardar. I have fished with these guys since I first went to Iceland 7 years ago, in that time I have been back a total of 8 times ( would have been more, but for Covid). during this time I have become good friends with the 3 of them, which just makes each trip better and better. ive had offers from other guides, but never changed who i fish with, quite simply Gummi and his team are the best!!

We had the most amazing holiday. It was brilliant to see the Northern lights ,swim in the Sky Lagoon hot spring, and the sights of the Golden circle which included th Geyser, the Gulfuss waterfall and seeing the tectonic place. The holiday was very well organised with a very good itinerary and the transfers were very smooth. Definitely recommend this company.
