Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were picked up by our driver Ian at bus stop 6 near to our hotel. Luckily for us Ian is from the same part of the world as us so we had lots to talk about throughout the day. He was very knowledgeable and had lots to tell us about Iceland (and quite a bit about himself :) )

Our first stop of the day was a stunning waterfall Uriddafoss. Followed up with the even more impressive Skogafoss.

After a stop near the infamous Eyjafallajokul volcano we came to my highlight of the day, the incredible glacier Sólheimajökulsvegur. Absolutely breathtaking and unlike anything I’d seen before. It’s a bit of a hike to get to the viewpoint so make sure you wear good walking boots but it’s definitely worth it.

Our lunch stop off was in the town of Vik where we found a pub to shelter from the rain.

From there it was on to the nearby black beach and the stunning cave used in Game of Thones. I feel the cave would benefit from someone stopping people going in as not only does it spoil your pictures but it’s a dangerous site where people have been injured by falling rocks.

The last stop of the day was the gorgeous Seljalandsfoss waterfall. If you can I’d avoid using the toilets here as they are also used by nearby campers and aren’t exactly 5 star.

Highly recommend this tour and Your Day travel

Amazing day! Elding provide a suit to keep you warm and comfortable throughout, while using their expertise to find, in our case, incredible humpback whales! They take care not to distress animals while giving visitors amazing views! Brilliant experience.

Our tour guide Quim is a funny guy, he makes everything smooth and clean, 6 of our teammate have a great time in it. Looking forward for diving there after snorkelling.

Sadly, we did not see the lights the night we went, but the tour company cannot be faulted for that - can't control Mother Nature. But, highly recommend the East West - from the booking to the hot cocoa, it was well handled. They also offer a "re-do" in which you can go again if the lights aren't out the night you go. (Sadly, we couldn't take advantage of it b/c of timing), but you can't ask for much more than that from a company.
Our tour guide, Gulli B tried hard to entertain and keep our spirits up. Would have liked to hear a little more about the Northern Lights phenomena, or Iceland history in general during the drive and time spent watching, rather than an unusual assortment of music ... but that's just me.

The golden circle tour was already a highlight - also we wished to have more time to spend in no mans-land - but the tour with Franklin, an original young Iceman, was specially. He alone is a amazing with his humour, his deep voice and his fresh engagement... "the sun kisses the Gulfoss - what lucky guys we are..." his mother can be very proud of her son!

Tomas was our guide. He was superb in all respects! We were picked up at the designated bus stop in Reykjavik and started the long drive toward the glacier but it went by quickly with Tomas’ information. Instructions for use of the crampons and harnesses were clearly communicated, and Tomas was patient with all in the group. The hike itself was spectacular - the glacier lagoon, the glacier itself and the views! Additional stops included the black sand beach which was most notable for the interesting basalt rock formations and the nesting birds on the cliffs. There was a nice restaurant at this site at which we enjoyed a late lunch. On the way home we visited 2 spectacular waterfalls. We returned back to Reykjavik at about 730 pm. A long day but the highlight of our trip!

No, seriously. I'm 30 and in the last 12 years I've been lucky enough to go on a lot of tours around the world - and this is the best one. Of course the incredible physical geography and geology of Iceland is hard to compete with, but what really made it amazing were our tour guide and driver (M-dog and V-Sauce). The tour ran punctually throughout the day, and the information was both interesting and fun. Matt in particular was excellent, and made the tour really personable as someone who has a lot of experience living in Iceland. They created a safe space for everyone which made it easy to make friends along the way. I would recommend this tour for friends, family's, solo travellers, and any other demographic you can think of! Side note - if you're worried about visiting the secret lagoon as a trans of non-binary person, they do talk about it and are able to create options for you!! 11/10 - no one will regret going on this tour.

Rinse took us around Reykjavik to some distinctive and fascinating food venues. He was informative, considerate and personable. A great experience that was made all the better by his serenade at the end of the tour.

Top spots and probably the best touristic way of seeing all this without doing too much harm to nature. The guide was great, telling stories with lots of humorous references and sharing his own and local view on things!
