  • The ranking of tours, activities, and experiences available on Tripadvisor is determined by several factors including the revenue generated by Tripadvisor from these bookings, the frequency of user clicks, and the volume and quality of customer reviews. Occasionally, newly listed offerings may be prioritized and appear higher in the list. The specific placement of these new listings may vary.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A fantastic day, organisation without fault, guide super, gorge spectacular.

Coach was air conditioned which was a god send at the end of the day as the last 3km of the walk was hot beyond anything I've experienced (although from the UK so not a high bar!), really well driven on some very mountainous roads.

Guide gave just the right amount of information and some interesting facts during the coach journey without overdoing it. Available without being in in your face, basicly you make your own way down while she swept up any stragglers to ensure every makes the ferry.

The gorge is spectacular and I would recommend to anyone interested. It is nearly all down hill but it is rough ground. I wore trainers which I would not recommend if you have hiking boots (I did not bring them to Crete), by the end the soles of my feet were suffering from the rough ground. It is also very hot, especally the last 3km from the National Park exit to the ferry. It's tough but very much worth the effort, time and cost.

Fantastic experience. Really enjoyed the extra little stops in the local village. The trip is insightful to Crete and staff are very considerate to your comfort.

It’s small and easy to do in an hour with young children. Awe inspiring cave. Excellent value for money we all really enjoyed it.

I recently went on a day excursion from Rethymno to Balos, and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. Unlike my previous experience in 2021, this time I was not informed that the boat no longer docks at Balos. Instead, it stops 10 meters away from the shore, forcing passengers to disembark into deep water.

Disembarking was chaotic and frustrating, taking over 1 hour and 45 minutes to get everyone off the boat. Many people struggled because they couldn't swim, adding to the chaos. It's baffling that the government prohibits boats from docking in Balos Bay but allows them to stop 10 meters away. This rule seems nonsensical and severely impacts the experience.

When I raised these concerns with our guide upon arriving in Kissamos, his response was dismissive: "You don’t have to leave the boat, or you can get a private boat for £200." This lack of empathy and solutions was disheartening.

What was once a fun excursion in 2021 has become a waste of time. I wouldn't recommend this trip to anyone in its current state. The organizers need to address these issues, but it seems they are more interested in taking tourists' money. Save yourself the frustration and look for alternative experiences.

The name already says it, they are safari experts! There is no other way to put it. This is a must do for thrill seekers in Crete.

It was a memorable experience with a funny tour guide. If you don’t have any experience with quads, don’t worry they will teach you everything you need to know for this tour.

The guide provided a good balance between adrenaline moments, moments for pictures and food/bathroom breaks. Also, they take pictures with your own cell phone, come up with funny poses and show you all the great scenery around the area that we wouldn’t have seen without this tour.

There is a storage box on the quads that is provided with a coolbox and some juice and water, super handy!

Lastly, if you have any questions about the tour they answer really fast on whatsapp. And they were punctual with the pick up and drop off.

    10/10 would recommend!!!

There’s so much more to this tour than the title describes. Ed was a most fantastic host! He has the perfect balance of personality, humor, knowledge, and safety as a driver. He has the inside information of where to go and what to see! We avoided the typical tourist traps and experienced authentic Cretan culture. In addition to the Knossos Palace and Zeus cave, we also visited an olive oil refinery, small villages, a delicious cafe, agricultural fields where we picked strawberries and cucumbers, ate at a high-end Greek restaurant near centuries-old windmills, and stopped to see a 2 thousand year old tree!
All along the way, Ed gave us helpful information and fun trivia facts about Greek mythology, Cretan history, and Greek culture.
I give Ed and this tour the highest recommendation! He’s the best!

Our tour guide Demetrios was awesome! We went for the luxury tour so we did not have to drive which I highly recommend. We were in a more comfortable vehicle and got to enjoy all the sights and get so much knowledge instead of driving ourselves. Demetrios took the time to show us all of the native herbs and spices that can be found on the island. We went to two different beaches and enjoyed our lunch at one of them. This trip was definitely the highlight of our vacation and probably one of the best guided tours I've ever been on!

HUGE day. Pack light and bring plenty of snacks you can eat on the go. Lots of downhill and loose rocks. Gorgeous views that are worth the difficult hike and clear water at the end. Lots of water refill stations throughout. Tight deadline to get to the ferry, so you need to keep moving. The group doesn't stick together so be prepared to do the hike completely solo. Bring bug bite spray!

Perfect service and quick response when we discovered that the pick-up location was wrong. The day was excellent with a visit to the cave. For Elafonis beach, we would have needed swimming shoes because there are very sharp rocks.
