This is a MUST place to visit once in Athens. The audio guide is free and very worthwhile . There are usually long lines for tickets so it’s better to get tickets on line in advance .

Although not named as one by them, this magnificent testimony to the ancient world and it's vast reaching impact deserves a spot on this list.

Stunningly situated on it's outcrop, the monument is imposing even against the backdrop of modern Athens.

With a historical legacy that cannot be underestimated, the experience is certainly improved on a guided tour, where you are given a window into the fascinating history behind it, and how it's architecture and the beliefs and inventions creators have impacted the entire world in the mellenia since it's construction.

This lovely neighbourhood is the nicest area in Athens. Some of the restaurants and shops are overpriced, so watch out for that

There are many interesting artefacts on display here but half of them weren’t available to view when I visited, I’m not sure why. Which was a shame. But it was good to explore for an hour or so

Really impressive views of the city from here.
We got a taxi from the hotel which dropped us virtually at the top..saved the 7 euros for the railway.
Nice little church on the top.
    Well worth the trip.

Wow. What can I say. It’s incredible in every way. You can really see the history of the building as it’s still almost so perfect, It is totally worth the small walk from the acropolis to visit, we arrived and it was just us there and it really gave us time to look and be in awe of how incredible the building is!

Even more than the Parthenon, this represents the social heart of Ancient Athens. The Temple of Hephaestus rates is both splendid and probably the most complete 'ruin' in the city.

It's a fantastic introduction to Athens. It's a site where you can be sure heroes, philosophers, and famous artisans have lived and changed the world.

On a catious: On a hot summer day, be sure that you cover up and take water. Otherwise, breathe the history!

Personally, I think this is the most interesting ancient sight I saw in Greece. The statues are replicas as the originals have been moved to the Acropolis Museum to prevent them eroding further

Given that this functions still as a theatre, I figured that visitors to the Acropolis would be able to walk around it. This sadly wasn’t the case. It was great to admire from above, but a shame that visitors couldn’t access it

This neighbourhood strongly resembles a Greek island. It's very peaceful, there were hardly any other visitors when I went. Feels like a quiet oasis in the middle of a chaotic city. There's many tiny streets to explore and get lost in. Remember to be quiet and respect the locals
