Miradouro de Santa Iria Ribeira Grande
#4 of 57 Sights & Landmarks in Sao Miguel
The quite isolated and lofty location means that Santa Iria was very peaceful, serene and beautiful - great views as you might expect, with only the flight of a large bird of prey (Goshawk?) to distract us.
The view of the Northern coasts, cliffs and countryside is stunning.

Igreja do Santo Cristo Ponta Delgada

Igreja do Santo Cristo is the landmark of Ponta Delgada, the church that is the center of Christianity in Azores.
If it is closed, the portico offers a great view of the port.

Nossa Senhora da Paz Vila Franca do Campo

Particularly nice setting - when the site plants bloom: hydrangeas in Summer and aloes in November/December - sunrise and sunset in winter, when the sun rises and sets over the ocean.
A bit complicated journey to the top, road sometimes seems to be end soon but in the end You will rich great place worth to climb plenty of stairs to chapel for great view to city and sea.

A great place to stop, very beautiful garden, gorgeous views of the cliffs and the Atlantic ocean, few picnic areas , a good place for family picnics.
The Azorean northeast is a non-stop of breathtaking views and Ponta da Madrugada view point is one of the most offers one of the most beautiful sights in the Island.

You can watch a video of the history, stroll the inside of the site where tea is dried and packed, purchase their products (excellent!) and find treats to eat as well.
The hike is pretty easy and the views all along the trail are amazing.

it's definitely a picture-perfect location in Ribeira Grande: central, amazing views, endless opportunity for print quality picture taking.
We ate in the square where you can get a good view of the bridge and several churches.

The rooms and balconies provided some great views and the climb to the roof provided an incredible view of Sete Cidades without the flock of tourists at the Vista do Rei below!
Make sure you go to the balconies of the top floor for what is an amazing view of the Caldeira das Sete Cidades.

Easy to get to, fun to explore, and great views from both below and up top.
The day was overcast and a bit rainy, however, as I climbed to the top, I was rewarded with a spectacular view.

The two young men who were the museum attendants we spoke with were most friendly and enthusiastic, and encouraged us to view each of the exhibits.

The gardens are spectacular, and well cared for- we really liked the fact that we were able to visit , and view some lovely displays of coleus, and Felicia in formal settings, in between some outstanding specimen...
There are benches available to rest and enjoy the views, and there are clean, well maintained visitor restrooms located near the walkway behind the palace about halfway through your self-guided tour route.
