What travellers are saying
- Nuzhat RLondon, UK80 contributionsCape Saint Vincent is an absolutely stunning destination that everyone visiting Portugal should experience. We visited on a Monday around 3 PM, and unfortunately, the lighthouse access was closed, but the surrounding scenery more than made up for it.
The cliffs are breathtakingly high, with waves crashing against the rocks below, turning the water a mesmerizing milky white. It’s incredible to stand there and take in the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean—the deep blue waters to the right are a striking reminder that the next landmass is America. To the left, you can see the beautiful coastline of Portugal stretching out into the distance.
This was my second visit, and it’s as awe-inspiring as ever. Whether it’s your first time or a return trip, Cape Saint Vincent is a must-see for its sheer natural beauty and sense of wonder. - WanderingOttersonsDenver, CO1,475 contributionsFor us this was a very cool and reasonably quick stop. The main part of the fort was closed the day were there and most people stopped quick, walked in the western door to the cliffs and looked around for a minute or two and got in their cars and left. What did we see? We saw a path down the cliffs to the water, marked by steel posts in the rocks. Well for us, that’s a path that needs to be explored…..and so we did. We were granted some great views and unique perspectives that everyone else missed out on. In addition to this path, there is a path to the west/northwest of the western parking lot that takes you to the mouth of the inlet by the fort. This again gives yet another perspective that nobody else in the time we were there bothered to seek out. Their loss. Some very wonderful views that so many people miss out on for lack of effort.Written 17 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not ornate in any way like other Portuguese churches. Open when the fort is open.Written 11 March 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
