We usually do such sites on our own, but the benefit of having a real local archeologist show us around and explain many of the site's features in-situ made the visit so much richer and more enjoyable.
The fascinating part about this site are the granite monoliths, some of them have carved drawings.I would highly recommend a visit to the site as one can see structures from from the prehistoric ages.

This is an absolutely beautiful cathedral, so much to see, the towers, the cloisters, the treasury, high choir, gorgeous paintings and scenes a delight to walk around and some lovely views from the towers, 4.50 en...
The view from the roof terrace between the towers is really amazing, the whole place reminds a bit of the roof terrace of Maria Magdalena's church in les Saintes Maries de la Mer in France.

One of the wonderful landmarks of Evora is its Roman temple, which is in very good condition, considering its age and the battles and earthquakes it has survived.
Closely located to other sights including Roman Baths, Bones Chapel, Cathedral and Aqueduct, together make Evora an interesting historic centre to visit.

Site of a youth orchestra concert one night, very pleasant sitting at one of the plaza cafes, sipping a beer and tapping toes to a variety of musical styles.
Beautiful views and great collection of medieval architecture.

Picked up at the hotel, taken to these amazing sites and given a most authoritative and knowledgable explanation by our guide from Evora Megalithica.
It is worth including this site with a drive or tour around megaliths in the region.

At the very top of the town, the Convento Dos Loios offers open views to the whole Evora and then plenty of charm, beauty and almost a magic appeal to the centuries past.
You can't do it online (the Pestana hotel group site) or at least you couldn't then.

Make sure to peek through two small trapdoors in the floor to view and incredibly deep and large well and a crypt containing bones from dozens of human corpses.

I am surprised at the skills required by primitive people to build this wonderful site.
