Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Cintiam09Southampton, UK14 contributions"Quinta da Regaleira is an enchanting estate that feels like something out of a fairytale. The gothic architecture, lush gardens, and mysterious tunnels create an otherworldly atmosphere that captivates visitors. The iconic initiation well and the stunning palace are truly awe-inspiring, offering a glimpse into Portugal's rich history and culture. Exploring the grounds feels like stepping into a magical realm, making it a must-see destination for anyone visiting Sintra. - VanessaLytham St Anne's, UK3,352 contributionsWandered down here for a couple of afternoons, great atmosphere, bars, restaurants, buskers, cafes, shops, boat rides along the river, it's all going on here.
Sat for coffee and beer in a couple of the bars, prices are cheap and service was good. Great views over the river.Written 7 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Easy accessible with the car, has a webcam to monitor the weather conditions, so it's easy to do for everyone. I would recommend to at least walk a bit on the path towards Pico Ruivo, to get more close to nature.Written 14 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GigifromAZPhoenix, AZ5 contributionsFor anyone that loves nature, you must visit this special place. The Ponta da Piedade is a walk along the cliffs of Lagos. The entire walk can be done on a lovely boardwalk to make it safe and easy. The views are stunning!Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ironhorseBristolBristol, England13 contributionsTook the train from Porto (Sai Bento station) to Pocinho, a 3.5 hour journey each way. The tracks runs along the Duoro River for a lot of the time and through the area with vineyards. The trip is well worth it. A return ticket for a pensioner was about 15 Euros. Pensioners get a large discount in Portugal so remember to take your passport to the ticket office. There is very little at Pocinho, there are a couple of places to get food and a coffee. The big boats do not operate from Porto up the Duoro River in winter (Oct - Mar), because of risk and maintenance they do not operate the numerous dams they now have on the Duoro. The train is a good alternative.Written 17 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- TgkavWashago, Canada160 contributionsWhat an amazing view we had from the lookout. We tried to view the lakes yesterday but the clouds ere too low and we couldn’t see anything through the clouds. Our guide asked us if we wanted to try again today and the group unanimously agreed and once we drove to the top of the caldera we were all impressed with what we saw. The view was spectacular. Well worth going back.Written 31 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- FredDeManVolgograd, Russia48 contributionsThe main attraction of this park is the large hot pool it contains. It isn't very hot but, because of its size, it doesn't feel crowded.
Furnas is a navigation nightmare and finding parking is not trivial. Also the park closes early (1630 at this time of year).
The changing rooms are being rebuilt, and the temporary changing rooms and toilets are completely inadequate. Probably unworkable at the busier times of year.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was very busy there. We stopped for 30 minutes. Take some coins for the toilets. 50 cents eachWritten 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- livelifeHampshireRingwood, UK156 contributionsJust beautiful. We stopped for 90 minutes as part of our excursion. I’d have liked longer as it felt a bit rushed when having lunch and looking around. The views are stunning.Written 18 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- LilacwheatyNottingham, UK854 contributionsWe drove as far as could go, lots of parking at end and on roadside for a mile towards, but very busy, so we could not actually walk this area. Instead we retraced our steps and found a much less crowded wild cliff edge walk, that was enough for us on a squally day. Thinkk it was brown ignposted as a MiradouroWritten 1 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LorraineSaskatoonSaskatoon, Canada17 contributionsThis was a clean green zoo! There is a huge variety of animals that looked healthy and happy. There was a large number of staff feeding and cleaning pens and lots of maintenance projects under way.
$20 euros for seniors! Excellent value and a Metro stop and McDonald’s just outside the main door!Written 27 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
