We found great results, but some are outside Galveston Island. Showing results in neighbouring cities.

The Bryan Museum Galveston
#1 of 16 Museums in Galveston
The Bryan Museum is one of the best museums we have ever visited.
Most of the artifacts are from the private collection of benefactors Mary Jon and J.P. Bryan, and the museum is the result of their lifetime commitment to historic preservation and education.

This is one of the most interesting museums we have toured.

My 16 year old has loved trains since he was 2, so we try to visit train museums when we can.
I've visited lots of RR museums and this is hands down the very best of the lot.

Texas Seaport Museum Galveston
#6 of 16 Museums in Galveston
Most of the history of Texas focuses on the battles which were fought at San Antonio, Goliad, Gonzalez, and San Jacinto, but this museum does a great job of weaving together both land and naval history together.
Wonderful museum highlighting Galveston and it's importance in history
The Galveston Children's Museum Galveston

Texas City Museum Texas City 31.4 km away

I think anyone would say the trains, with their incredible detail, are the star of the show, but all the exhibits are very interesting, and seemed to me as professionally done as at much larger museums.
This is a great regional museum that portrays Texas City's resilience to hurricanes, the large ammonium nitrate explosion of 1947 and the change of sea port status.
