Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Our tour was AMAZING! Rob was a delight - he was funny, entertaining and knowledgeable! Rob made lots of funny jokes, but was also extremely helpful and clearly passionate about his job - he made the experience memorable 👍🏼 The tour was great for all types of groups, and probably even fun for solo travellers.

An amazing day trip out to the countryside! So many beautiful locations. Reinier was an excellent and incredibly knowledgeable guide. He shared lots of really interesting information and facts about each location, which I really appreciated and enjoyed. I learned so much about the Netherlands that I hadn’t known before! There is a fair amount of driving to each location, so be prepared for a few hours in the car. This did mean we had plenty of downtime between locations thought. We also had enough time to explore each place as well. Great tour, would definitely recommend!

This tour was one of my favourite things we did.

Our tour guide Mikey was funny and knowledgable, I learnt a lot from her and she easily answered everyone’s questions.

The town is really cute and you get to see a series of windmills, including the last paint mill in existence. It was cool to see inside the windmill and watch the cogs turn as we climbed up to the top!

The clog making demo was really fascinating and was by a great gift shop!

We also saw a cheese making demo and got to try out the cheeses which was great (not so sure on lavender cheese though).

We had 3 lots of 10-20 min of free time where we could sample the cheese, peruse the gift shop, take photos etc… although I feel my only criticism is that we could have done with slightly longer free time (30 mins would be ideal) in order to get everything done!

It was fascinating to see, educational and cultural!

This bike tour was absolutely incredible! Kendra is a fantastic guide—knowledgeable, fun, and easy to work with. She and her team were professional from start to finish. Kendra led us through the stunning countryside of Zaanse Schans and Zaandam, where we biked past historic sites, charming neighborhoods, and picturesque pastures filled with cows, horses, goats, and donkeys.
One highlight was visiting a real, functioning windmill, where the caretaker shared fascinating insights into how windmills work and their significance in local culture and land management.

The 40km ride included plenty of stops, and the e-bikes were a breeze to use. I highly recommend this tour!

Amazing cultural experience. Experience how the Dutch lived and adapted to the landscape many years ago. Suitable for all ages.

Younes arrived right on time. He was very friendly and outgoing. Right away we started chatting about our love of travel. We went to see the beautiful windmills, watched clogs being made and then headed to the cheese farm. Tasting some amazing cheese. Younes recommended a great restaurant for my lunch in a small fishing village. During my tour he was not only my driver, guide but personal photographer. I never felt rush during my time and could take as much time as I like exploring. A wonderful morning spent.

The windmill part of the tour was extremely interesting, though it was not a very windy day and so we didn’t get to see the sawmill in operation. The guide, who is a local woodworker, was interesting and explained it well. Unfortunately, the times spent at the windmills was a bit short, in favor of sales opportunities for the company, which involved wood shoes manufacturing (quite interesting with young quirky explainer), “cheese making“(which actually explained very little about making cheese followed by the opportunity to buy a whole lot of cheese at high prices), and a demonstration of making stroopwaffles with the opportunity to buy some of these after.

    The countryside was beautiful.

What an amazing experience, Kai did such a great job telling us everything we needed to know during our trip! Giethoorn was a fairy tale. I would do this trip again for sure, really good day.

Phillip was fantastic. Very knowledgeable, entertaining and fun. Loved the windmills, Leo at the cheese and clog factory, and fell in love with the beautiful villages. This tour was exactly what we wanted. Gavin and Julie

We hit bad traffic and road closures so they adjusted. All in all they did a good job adjusting we got to experience what we expect. The windmill park was very nice but crowded. The guide did a great job and was funny and informative

Great to have a small group experience and avoid the tourist throngs. Also our guide and driver was the perfect balance of history and factoids as well as social interaction without being overbearing. It helped break the ice with the other guests. I highly recommend this tour and experience. We visited the dairy farm, cheese factory, wooden shoemaker and of course the windmills. The small group makes it very agile for insertion and extraction from the windmills which were the heaviest tourist draw. It's not that I am anti-social, I'm just not happy with being on a large bus with many people herding our way through the day. Great experience and really helped us maximize our limited time that day before leaving the Netherlands.

We had a wonderful day with the excellent guide Veronica (Argentinean and tour 100% in Spanish). The destinations were charming and we were fortunate to share with a Mexican family. Everything came out like a movie. Thank you Veronica for sharing your knowledge of this region. Highly recommended.
