My girlfriend and I have been on many historical walking tours (Civil War tour in Charleston, SC, History of New Orleans tour in New Orleans, LA, etc) and this was right up there with the best.
As a teacher of history and an avid reader of military history, I highly recommend Peter's tours to all - those who have a passing, or a developed interest in the world the recent past.

Great, great fun! Canal tours are a must in Amsterdam and I cannot recommend this one highly enough!! Small groups, smaller open-air boat (blankets available), relaxed, chilled, fun and informative!
We took two separate tours within a week, one with Alec and the next with Neil and were blown away by the inside access that these guys bring, delivered in their casual, open and amazingly informative style.

One of my favorite activities/tours to do on travels is food tours, but this one has got to be the best one I've experienced yet!
Yesterday we had a bespoke three hour food tour through the Jordaan area of Amsterdam with Thijs, the owner of Amsterdam Food Tours.

We had been on walking tours before and knew it was a good way to see a city.
We had a great time and enjoyed ourselves immensely, however we had noticed a 'Love My City Tour' leaflet in our hotel and decided we would take the guided tour round the Jordaan area.

Reinhard greeted us at our hotel, and was our cultured, humourous, and agreeable Captain for our 2hr private salon boat tour of Amsterdam's canals.
We were celebrating a special occasion, and this canal boat tour was an enchanting way to glide around Amsterdam.

This was a fantastic tour, a personal highlight of my two week trip and I highly recommend to anyone interested in WWII history, Jewish history, or Amsterdam history.
Peter was a great guide and we exchanged emails with others on the tour to stay in touch.

We first wanted to make one of those standard costly canalboat tours, untill we stumbled across Captain Ron in one of the famous cafés in the Jordaan.
We called Captain Ron on a friday evening and even though he already had two tours planned the next day he was more than happy to accommodate us as well!

Imagine where Sir Winston Churchill and Queen Wilhelmina sat in 1946 to enjoy an elegant boat tour of Amsterdam's canals and harbour.
This tour was top notch in every way and I would recommend it to everyone who visits Amsterdam.
