Nice place in Interlaken city. Once we reached in the top by funicular found a great view of Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, Interlaken city in the down, and the view of world-famous triumvirate of Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau.

We did not made any prior ticket. We made it on the spot.

    PROS
    • Great massive mountain top plateau giving amazing views of snow covered mountain peaks
    • Breathtaking scenery in all directions- from the two tranquil lakes to the towering peaks
    • A variety of good and challenging hikes, but also easier ones
    • Starting point for many varied hikes, including the day-long trek to Faulhorn and down to Lake Bachalpsee, First and finally Grindelwald.
    • Restaurant and Alpine Flower Garden are popular places to visit too
    • The cost of the antique 125+ year old slow train is covered by the Berner Oberland Pass.

    CONS
The slow train ride from Wilderswil

    “I VISITED THIS PLACE”…
… because I hiked from here to the peak of Oberberghorn the previous year and loved it so much that I had to return and hike with my 30 year old son. rea

We very much enjoyed our time at the top, including exploring the area at the top of the train depot and the restaurant building and then our journey to the top of the Oberberghorn, where the uninterrupted 360 degrees birds eye view was unequaled. The climb to the top on rickety ladders was also exciting 🙄 again

The weather was quite cloudy and overcast and it was not warm, and that clearly affected what we did and how much we enjoyed our visit. I wish that we could have stayed longer and explored and hiked more.

    WAS IT WORTH THE COST
Sure- it is covered by the Berner Oberland Pass

WOULD "I VISIT THIS PLACE" AGAIN?
Sure- I'd love another chance to hike here on a clear warm sunny day

    ADVICE
    * Be prepared to endure the annoying slow train ride of almost an hour
    * Arrive to Wilderswil train station plenty of time before the scheduled departure, so as to ensure a seat
    * Be prepared for small seating compartments with every seat taken.
    * Enjoy the incredible fantastic unbelievable 360 degree classic Swiss Alpine scenery

No public transportation from Interlaken West so be prepared for a 30 minute walk...last 15 uphill.
The facility is beautiful. All products wonderfully displayed.
Wanted to try the unique red berry gin and the more classic one. Neither one really appealed to my taste.
Tried a few whiskies. Again, nothing really special. They charge 2 Swiss francs per taste, which would be almost fair if they would pour more than to just wet the bottom of the glass.
I decided to buy a whisky that I did not taste at the distillery...the 7 year aged Rock Label Swiss Wood Finished whisky. Its description was more in line with my refined taste.
After flying back home, I opened it and was rather disappointed. The nose was too soft and the taste was not as complex as 7 year old whisky should purport. What surprised me more was that there was no aftertaste.
For the money....just get the Two lake whisky. For the price, you get a nice beginner's whisky with more flavor than the much more expensive ones.

Interlaken is rather a lodging base town to explore its surroundings, than a sightseeing destination. It has a nice setting between the Brienzer Lake and Thun Lake.
There're two Churches to visit at this site - the Reformist Church and Roman Catholic standing one by another.
Schlosskirche is actually the Reformist Church and is older than the Catholic one next door. It also has an adjacent monastery. We were lucky being there at the Sunday morning Mass.

Jungfrau railway which operates a rack railway service from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfrau with a 5-minute stop at Eismeer for the passengers to disembark and enjoy the view of the thick ice layers on the east face of Mt. Eiger was a praiseworthy service to us. This facility gave a fantastic opportunity to see the ice that has deposited over millions of years in the ice age and survived to date. There were scary deep cracks or fissures with greyish tinted ice layers that were clearly visible through the glass windows at the viewing platform. The rail journey was mostly through the tunnel and it was a comfortable and convenient way to travel to and back from Jungfrau. Being the highest railway in Europe, it was the travel experience that has stayed in our memory ever since we did the journey.

As I write this I haven’t even left. We had the chicken wings and fries. These were the BEST chicken wings I think I have ever eaten. The staff were friendly. Would recommend everyone to come here… and I think I’ll be back for I leave to try some of the sweets

Even the ride up to the ski area was incredible! The pilots were all very nice and very friendly! My pilot was Matteo, and he was engaging and professional in his handling of the glider! He had us floating on the air so quickly - it was so beautiful up there. I highly recommend this company, and it was not a scary experience at all - I loved it! Don’t worry about your age either - I’m 62 and had no problems with this excursion! Just do it!

My children and I had a wonderful time. Our guide/teacher, Joelle, was very kind and patient. She did everything to make this a fun expereince for my children. Being on the lake was beautiful, and we also had fun at the pool area before and after our tour.

My son and I went skydiving with Outdoor/Skydive Switzerland. We had an amazing experience! The team was super friendly, professional, and made sure we had an incredible time. This was a bucket list item for me and the opportunity to do it together with my son made it even more special. Can’t thank the team at Outdoor/Skydive Switzerland enough for the unforgettable memories! If you’re in the Interlaken region, check them out. You won’t be disappointed!

The best experience in Interlaken. The team is so professional and makes it fun. It was my first time hang gliding after dreaming of it for years. Took 13 year old daughter and we both loved it. Did the tricks and got great photos and videos. Totally worth the price and seems more adventurous than paragliding. Thank you for a wonderful morning!!
