Eremo Le Celle
#1 of 27 Sights & Landmarks in Cortona
It's a beautiful hike or drive (we drove, but wished that we had hiked) with gorgeous views of Tuscany, Cortona, and surrounding areas.
A perfect day in Cortona would start with a cappuccino in Cortona, then a casual walk to each of these sites ending at Ermo Le Celle.

Belvedere di Cortona
#2 of 27 Sights & Landmarks in Cortona
You can see the Roman Roads (the straight ones!) lead in and out of the hilltop town and the view south towards Lake Trasimeno and Ossia is beautiful.
Great views in the distance you might as well see the Lago Trasimeno which is very famous for being the setting of battle between the Romans and Hannibal.
Piazza della Repubblica

From the city walls you have views of Tuscany's rolling hills and a unique baroque cemetery of palatial resemblance!
For those of you who have watched this movie, you will recognize a lot of the landmarks here in Cortona, where they filmed the movie.
Basilica di Santa Margherita

The grounds are huge, the ceiling is spectacular, the bells are superb, the views are amazing, a handy car park is available, it is handy that they provide toilet facilities and one can also walk around the peacef...
The Basilica is located on the hills just above Cortona and the grounds give you a fantastic view of the surrounding countryside.

... and flavor of this amazing Tuscan town... Churches simply breathtaking in its simple charm...head up to the phenomenal Medieval Fortress above the beautiful Cathedral and enjoy the unbelievable view and feeling
Cortona is a small town and aside from the amazing views of the countryside and good food, you might be looking for places to visit.
Bramasole
#8 of 27 Sights & Landmarks in Cortona
I loved the views of Bramasole and the Tuscan countryside while enjoying a lovely walk with friends into the town of Cortona from the nearby town of Torreone.
My husband and I visited Cortona, and stayed at the Villa Baldelli, which has a beautiful view of the town.

Santa Maria del Calcinaio

It is very nice to see some old buildings in their original state, this landmark has not had much restoration done to it and is not well visited.
Fortezza di Girifalco
#10 of 27 Sights & Landmarks in Cortona
The views are breathtaking and and if you can tear your eyes away then the signs are informative and the history is fascinating.
The view upon the Valdichiana is amazing and you can see the lake and Umbria as well!
Chiesa di San Domenico

Stumbled on this site from the 13hundreds, lots of history, enjoyable to explore on our city walk and reading up on it's history.
Just outside the church is a long park and shaded walk alongside the hill with children’s park, sushi restaurant and fantastic views.
