Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Trevi Fountain is the most beautiful fountain I have ever seen.
beautiful but to enjoy it and get some nice photos you have to go either early in the morning or around midnight
anyway, a fountain that leaves you breathless

We visited this a couple of times but by far the best was doing the underground tour which can be done just by walking into the booking office.

You can see part of the history at one end and then the office is just around the corner where you use headsets to listen to the information and they walk you over to the other side of the old arena and you go underground there as well

    well worth it. Interesting.

I really enjoyed this church. It was historically important and held many wonderful pieces of art. It's also quite large and takes a few hours to fully see.

We got the Full experience ticket lasting for two consecutive days, valid for Colloseum and Forum Romanum. Thanks to some computing glitch, the first attempt to buy tickets had money "reserved", no tickets arrived into my email. second attempt was a success. i have yet to check if i was charged twice (i think not, as the ticket provider stated so).

Anyways, full experience in roman forum means access to several exhibitions througout the area (villa, domus augusta, pottery showcase and the byzantine basilica maria antiqua). I was originally sceptical towards contemporary writers being cited "palace so large that eyes hurt and pyramids seem puny" but the ruin complex is truly large and multilayered. The southern part (towards circus maximus) resembles nearby caracalla spas; the part at domus augustus had videomapping teaser and some beautifully restored frescoes. the area includes a rosarium with older varieties of roses. beautiful view towards west (vatican). you gradually descend through the ruins of another palace towards maria antiqua, and walk amond the columns and temples of the ancient forum. therea re multiple ways to enter/exit the area.

The Villa Borghese was splendid ! Me and my friends went there a few times during our holidays, to relax, read a book on a bench drained by the sun and we even used the miniboats on the lake which was a really fun and relaxed activity.
However, among all of those great things, we unfortunalety havn't been able to visit the Gallery Borghese ! There was too many people and we should have booked the visit weeks ago. So, if you want an advice : don't hesiate to book your tickets in advance !

A lovely area to walk around and just take in all the narrow cobbled streets and architecture that pops out when you peak around a corner!

We were here about 8am. No one was there, no scammers, no crowds. We could enjoy the steps which were built 1723-26 to link the square to the church. There are 3 terraces for the holy trinity. I know they are just steps, but the church on the top is pretty. Very close to the Metro Spagns stop. Not a must see, but nice in my opinion.

They say that “All roads lead to Rome”. Nothing epitomizes this better than Piazza Venezia. Symbolically fusing ancient and modern Rome, this square is the central hub of the city, situated at the intersection of several major thoroughfares including the historic Via dei Fori Imperiali that leads to the Roman Forum and Colosseum, and the shopping street of Via del Corso. Strategically located at the foot of Capitoline Hill, this square is not likely to be missed by any visitors to Rome as all the major Rome attractions are within walking distance from here. Dominating the piazza is the colossal Victor Emmanuel II Monument where you can get a view of the piazza and its surroundings by climbing the series of stairs to the portico. Unfortunately, the views of Piazza Venezia will be marred for the next 10 years as construction of the Metro C underground station is currently underway.

I truly love this piazza, it’s my favourite. Such beautiful churches and architecture. The fountain, the obelisk, the views, just a wonderful place to visit.

We actually went to the Sunday morning mass here, but anyone can visit. Check the visiting hours at the website. It is a Gothic style church, unique in Rome. It has Michelangelo's Christ the Redeemer. Apparently the master died before completion and it was finished by his pupils.

What a great experience to be able to be inside the Domus of Nero! You need to take a tour, which lasted 1 hour. My guide was very knowledgeable and I found it all very fascinating. Inside you can see original frescoes and parts of the building. It is complicated to get to and I got lost! Better signage would be good

Piazza del Campidoglio was designed in the 16th Century by the unique artist Michelangelo. The square is situated on top of Capitoline Hill, just behind the monument to Vittorio Emmanuelle II. A long, lazy staircase lead to the square. The center piece is the equestrian statue of Marcus Aurelius. But following the shrewd Italian policy to protect their cultural heritage, this statue is a good copy; the original is preserved and can be admired in the Capitoline Museum, fronting the square. Piazza del Campidoglio is one of the places you can't skip when in Rome.

This is an atmospheric market square and popular place for tourists to visit during visits to Rome. There is a daily food and food product market held in the square from 7am to 2pm (Mon to Sat). Campo de' Fiori is lined with eateries, artisan and boutique shops adding charm to the square.

There is an interesting fountain in back as well as a sombre monument to Giordano Bruno, the monk and free thinking philosopher who was burned at the stake in 1600 during the Italian Inquisition. It is a nice market and square, worth spending some time to explore along with the neighbourhood streets nearby.

This piazza is very busy and crowded. However, the centerpiece is the beautiful Trevi fountain. You really do not notice the restaurants and shops nearby. It's great to see open outdoor dining for great people watching as you walk away from the fountain.
