Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed within spitting distance of the piazza. Walked here most mornings to start our day. Sit on a bench with coffee and just take in the sights, watch the world go by. Imagine how it was. Choice of restaurants and cafes on the piazza, some are great others are just bland and over priced. Go further a field if you want less churned out dishes.

An absolutely beautiful basilica! Free entry. Easy access. Not insanely busy like so many other sites in Rome. A definite must see if you’re in the area.

The gardens are very large, and it could take a few hours to see all parts. The views of the trees in the autumn are magnificent

Went to the "Super Sites" today at the Palatine Hill and Roman Forum. Have been several times but I always learn something new and discover something I have not seen before. This was the very heart of ancient Rome and always fascinating as well as beautiful.

Interesting and pretty. Fun to climb.
Beautiful at night. Big tip: do not engage with the flower guys. They’ll pressure you into buying flowers after they act like they are GIVING them to your lady.

Rome has a rich and long history that has left us with a plethora of atmospheric streets in its old town. It’s one of the most fascinating old cities in the world

We rented a VRBO overlooking this area and found it very charming. Very early in the morning the vendors set up for somewhat of a farmer's market. Around 4:30pm they begin to take things down. You are able to bargain with most of the vendors.
In the evening, all the restaurants place outdoor seating and it is very enjoyable. I would really recommend this area to stay, as it is very walkable to all the major attractions.

I went their because of its grandiosity and the balcony from where Musolini gave his speeches .The building across is great and the vibes of this piazza is there.

This is a recent archeological discovery, since it was thought to have been totally destroyed by Trajan, 30 years after Nero’s death. Actually, it was partially destroyed and buried by the Trajan Baths, but they found remains of the previous building and they are still excavating. Because of that, it is only open to the public on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays (excavations continue during the rest of the week), and you can only visit on guided group tours (check when there are English language tours and reserve weeks in advance). The tour is quite impressive, includes a virtual reality part with VR goggles, and lasts about 90 minutes.

Piazza del Popolo is special to us as it was our first and last view of Rome upon arrival in 2011. It is truly the Peoples Square and meeting place and where the three main streets, Via del Corso, Via del Babuino and Via di Ripetta diverge into the city. The Egyptian obelisk of Sety stands in the center of the Piazza. Four majestic lions on each corner of the obelisk offer visitors a drink of water. Three churches surround the square: The Church of Santa Maria del Popolo and the twin Churches of Santa Maria in Montesanto and Santa Maria dei Miracoli. Lots of history to be found in this square.

Via del Corso is a long, busy road, and one of the main arteries of Rome. It connects the lovely Piazza del Popolo to Piazza Venezia and the monumental, wedding-cake building dedicated to Vittorio Emanuele II.
Both are popular sights and Via del Corso provides a direct walking path between them.
At the Piazza del Popolo end, via del Corso is flanked by the beautiful twin domed churches of Santa Maria in Miracoli and Santa Maria in Montesanto.
I generally prefer wandering down side streets, meandering and exploring but if you want a path that will take you straight as the crow flies, then this is it.

Walk up the steps and enjoy the beautiful square; then keep walking to your left and you will reach a fabulous viewing point where you can see the Roman forum. After that, go back to the steps where you came from. Looking back at the square, you will see a road to your right. Take it and walk to the side of the Museo Capitolino. You will find a garden to your left. The recreation of the colossus of Constantine is there. A very interesting visit!

The most spectacular church! I loved all the art! From the cute miniature city of Bethlehem and the sculpture of Jesus done by Michelangelo! There were also many spots to put prayer request as well as the tomb dedicated to saint Catherine of Siena! The ceiling is marvelous and I’m so glad we stopped! Great to see especially if your going to visit the pantheon!

Very nice and friendly stuff and cats. If you are cat person, visit them after walking around ancient ruins. Cats walk freely in the area and look beautiful with the ancient temple ruins in the background! 😻
