Many other impressive sights in this chapel but the Veiled Christ is the absolute standout.
Before you come here, it is highly recommended that you read up on this site, to truly appreciate the art, the history and all it has to offer, on main floor and in basement (anatomical machines) one must have con...

During our journey, he noticed me taking photos from the backseat and began to pull over for the scenic views (including getting a selfie with our family!).

After a week in Italy visiting many historical sights, museums and a lot of walking our little kids needed something different and we are very glad we did this activity.
Thanks to a workshop on the underground built environment in Naples, I had the opportunity to visit this incredible site!

There are guided tours that are offered, with very informative tour guides, well-versed in English, with passion and enthusiasm eager to share the information about this historic site.
Went here in march in the morning, they have guided tours in English and the guide was great really informative and knew everything about the site and was really proud of the area and history.

The historic pharmacy is so beautiful and an informative example of ancient medicine; the hospital site and museum offer a most interesting insight on medical treatment at the time.
One of the most interesting sights we saw..

We shared a box on the second tier with two other people and the view of the stage was very good. The performance of the Marriage of Figaro was very enjoyable, with a high standard of singing, though at four hours...
Each box has a mirror in it to assist the views of the opera house and to accentuate the effect of clapping.

You will be rewarded by what you find at the end of the tunnel, a magnificent area of excavations and a fantastic view on the sea.
That said, the site is an amazing piece of the Roman empire...a villa complex with a very impressive tunnel entrance, theaters and views across the bays.

We have had a very good connection to this site from the Central Naples Railway Station.

It is free to enter but we gave €5 as it is such a charming and unique site to visit.
The man (I presume the owner) at the entrance showed us around (speaks a little English) from what I can tell it is still being renovated (by him I believe) and is a site of old wells where people used to visit to...

We've had a good sunny day and really enjoyed in the panoramic views of the surrounding hills and above all in the sight of the magnificent and mighty Vesuvius in the distance, across the bay.
Walking along the sea here is breathtaking with the view of the sorrento and posillipo peninsulae, the Capri island (when the weather is good) and the "castello dell'ovo")

Here in the square of Gesu Nuovo( New Jesus) there are three sites that ought to be seen and these are the Gesu Nuovo Church itself, then the Church of Santa Chiara and the spire or guglia of the Immaculate Virgin.
The entrance opens on the view of a magnificent high altar and the church is fully filled of exquisite decorations.

... which I also recommend you watch as it’s fascinating to learn about the history, and there is an exhibition in the museum which is also very good with some interesting relics and an amazing archeological site.
We had a lovely walk through the garden and at the end a great view of the presepi.

There is an early 16th century coffered ceiling above you, and downstairs is a small, marble-clad cloister with a clear view of Donnaregina Vecchia's original Gothic facade.

The artworks in Toledo Metro station are mosaics and panels, which depict the underwater sights.
The artwork was very relaxing after a very busy day taking in the sites in Naples.

... above the church, though, which has interesting paintings, documents of the purchasing of the Caravaggio, and, best of all, an awesome office which has a window giving a secret view of the Seven Acts of Mercy.
We were tipped by different sites on the internet.

This street is typical and contains wonderful sights.
Little chili pepper ornaments and baubles like 2 inch wide tambourines with Vesuvius views painted on them, hang from every table and there's a great selection of tiny ornaments for 2 to 4 euros.

It is full of history and we learnt so much, just by walking the lovely narrow streets, visiting various important sites, shops, churches, palaces and many others spots.
Walking around Naples to see as many sights as possible is easy as it is a compact city but with the intense heat and number of people it can be tiring.
