The first part (about 3km) is completely pedestrian and offers an amazing view on the Gulf of Salerno which is the main city (county town) between the marvellous Amalfi Coast and the pristine Cilento Coast.
Be sure to walk the entire paved path for some amazing views of the gorgeous coast.

Notwithstanding the fact that the ruins of the Castello are absolutely worth visiting, especially if you enjoy that kind of thing, the view of Salerno and the coast from above is absolutely stunning.
The views over Salerno are stunning, breath-taking .There was a concert there that evening so we didn`t get inside the castle , but it was worth going up the hill to see the views below.
