Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Coming by to the end of a month-long road trip around Spain and Portugal my 40 year old memories of the tapas culture were pretty much in tatters. I’d order a small glass of beer (for about 20p) and get a small plate of something tasty free with it. Obviously times have changed and nobody can afford to do this now. The structure has changed but the spirit of the thing is alive and extremely robust In Logroño. We he ad a hotel very close to this area and the sheer busy-ness of the place gives you a real buzz. The quality of the food and wine is truly unbelievable for the prices charged. Plus, you have the sensation of being exactly where the cool locals go. I can’t recommend this area enough. If you don’t like it, check your pulse. Seriously.

This huge cathedral is the centrepiece of Logrono and it's bell towers can be seen from various parts of the city. Impressive interior with tall pillars and large altar.

This is the place to be for pintxos and wine in Logrono, in my opinion. Not quite as crowded as Calle Laurel, greater variety of options-- something for every taste-- and top quality food and drink. Vendors are friendly, customers are happy, the street is alive. In many ways, this is Spain at its best.

This isn't a large area, and you don't go here to be "seen." It was recommended to me by a resident as the least likely to aim to specifically cater to tourists, and I believe it. Caracoles (small snails) and anchovies with different combinations that we are not used to seeing (actually, we aren't much used to seeing anchovies sold at all!) are for sale on the street, as well as standby bacalao and iberico and ternera.

This review is making me hungry! I'm going to make a pintxo for myself now.

Unfortunately the church was closed when we visited, but it is very attractive set in a pretty little square. Impressive carvings around the entrance door.

This grand building has some lovely architectural features from the outside and a large ornate altar on the inside.

A lovely green space in the centre of the city, this pretty square would look beautiful once spring and summer arrive and the trees are in full leaf.

Although the church was closed when we were walking around the area, the building has some lovely architecture. The impressive tower houses eight bells.

Calle Portales is always busy, but during the Fiesta de San Matteo, the Rioja wine harvest festival, it is especially active. Countless restaurants, cafes, boutiques, walking orchestras, the locals dressed in gorgeous regional costumes - a real energy boost!

This is a relatively new renovation of the historical site. captures the history well with story boards and a short video that plays in the underground void every 30mins. Free entry and worth going to understand the story of Logrono.

Nice local market in the center of Logrono with all kinds of food venders. Ideal to pick up fresh local items (cheese, fruit, etc.) if staying in town. Will take only a few minutes to see the whole market and worth a quick visit. Full of locals buying everyday food needs.

The predecessor of this bridge was on the coat of arms of Logroño. It had three towers and was the site of the Camino de Santiago's entrance to the city. The second name of the San Juan de Ortega bridge also passed to the new bridge after the chapel that used to stand on the left Bank. However, the three-tower symbol of Logrogno collapsed in 1871 and the new bridge was built by 1884 using the remains of the old bridge during construction. Because it belongs to the Camino de Santiago, this bridge can be considered part of the UNESCO world heritage site.
