Great views on a clear day - its a long walk up so use the cable car- get a ticket which includes the nature reserve and can go to St Michaels Cave, Great Siege Tunnels and Moorish Castle which are all week worth...
We took the steps unto the Moorish Castle from the old town and purchased £10 all-in-one tickets for the Moorish Castle, Great siege Tunnels, St Michael's Cave and the Nature Reserve.

At cable car but a ticket include the nature reserve which also allows entry into the caves and great seige tunnels and moorish castle .
I would say this was the highlight of the Upper Rock taxi tour we took, which also included the Nature reserve, Great Siege Tunnels and the Apes feeding area.

The bus drops you at the car park on the main road and you have to make your way down a lot of steps to get to the village but it's worth it.
There is a shop \ 3 cafes, loos and a car park - so well serviced.
