Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- Caroline5 contributionsOne of my favourite Canary Islands! Amazing scenery, roads are really well looked after (no pot holes in sight!) & very friendly locals.Written 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FreshwaterroseSomerset, UK125 contributionsValley Gran Ray is on the west coast of La Gomera. Although a trip to get here it's well worth it.
As you descend in to the Valley it's like entering another world. The geographical and geological situation is awe inspiring. It literally takes your breath away.
The magic keeps happening as you drive into the village. The tranquil peacefulness envelopes you. There's a magical quality about this place.
Hiking is the main attraction and the surrounding hills valleys and mountains don't disappoint.
I loved it here and hope to return one day ❤️Written 26 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It feels pretty remote (although right next to the little airport) and I recommend it as a place to relax.Written 8 June 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - kattullusStockholm, Sweden1,106 contributionsWe walked for a day from Hermigua more or less following the El Cedro stream passing the waterfall, making a roundabout south of El Cedro area and back to Hermigua. Several hiking alternatives but rather steep and only for the sure footed. Also easy walks are possible in this fascinating forest.Written 13 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elisabeth NTurku, Finland236 contributionsWe did a roudtrip on La Gomera and didn't really know this place excisted but glad we drove this road and needed to take a break. Little glashouse with view over Aqulo village.Written 15 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- StellaStockholm, Sweden2,088 contributionsVery creepy place especially in the afternoon when it gets cloudy and misty. Can feel very humid and wet. Near the entrance there’s a cafeteria but you’ll need basic Spanish to order anythingWritten 16 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Elisabeth NTurku, Finland236 contributionsVery nice quite easy trail with either an advance trail or easy trail. Short under 2km but breathless views of both El Hierro and Tenerife. We didn't spot Gran canaria because of calima (sand in th air) but still worth the walk.
Little bit forest and mountain.Written 15 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The trails are well maintained and marked but some are very steep and many routes involve much altitude gains with descents down to the sea and climbs back up again
Lovely, quiet area with great cafes and restaurants in the villagesWritten 27 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. However, if you take care, splashing about in the shallows can be fun. It is a nudist beach, so avoid if easily offended.Written 29 January 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - David DDevon, UK27,006 contributionsWednesday 13th October and we visited concrete remains of El Pescante (the davit) at Hermigua on the northeastern side of the Island.
Alongside the remains of the crane and the crumbling factory buildings is a swimming pool formed in the rocks.
Located alongside the concrete pillars of the davit the pool is filled by the the sea at high tide.
It was very popular when we were here with a number of people turning up to swim.
The water looked dark due to the blackness of rock and surrounding cliffs. The water was certainly refreshing and cold judging be the squeals and screams from those daring enough to brave the waters.
We accessed through a broken piece of fence and continued down the road to get here.Written 21 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Stony beach but rather calm waters.Written 14 April 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- David SMiddlesbrough, UK2,381 contributionsA short walk from the cruise terminal. Columbus and his men allegedly prayed at this ancient church before setting off for the New World. This really is a beautiful church with a beautiful altar and a hand-carved wooden ceiling.Written 8 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
