St. Peter's Cathedral (Dom)
#1 of 157 Sights & Landmarks in Trier
Catherine the mother of Emperor Constantine who saved all the historical sights of Christianity in Israel has her skull entombed in the basement.
A quiet yet heavily traveled cathedral in a country made up of beautiful churches and religious sites.

Hauptmarkt
#4 of 157 Sights & Landmarks in Trier
Everything is a stone's throw from this square, food, shopping, historic sites, a "must" visit spot in the Second Rome.
Loved the Hauptmarkt itself, but was quite disturbed by the huge tents disrupting what would have been a beautiful view of the square.

Amphitheater
#7 of 157 Sights & Landmarks in Trier
Although you do have to pay to actually sit on the slopes of the amphitheater (and from there visit the entire complex), on a lovely day it is a wonderful spot for a picnic and the view is stunning.
The theater is massive and you get gorgeous views of a vineyard if you climb to the top of the stands.
