Most of the route follows the Wupper river, and the train affords some great and unique views of the city.
As you walk into the older part of Aachen you are greeted by the spectacular site of the Aachen Cathedral, the gothic architecture of this World Unesco site was amazing!
A landmark of historical and religious significance, the Dom is the site of the final resting place of Charlemagne, coronation church of German kings and the Great Aachen Pilgrimage.
We sat in the gallery and had an excellent view (albeit from the side).
If you are a few days in Cologne take the chance to buy a ticket and enjoy the excellent acoustic with best view from all seats.
Great acoustic, great architecture, best views and atmosphere.
The highlight is naturally the 20m wide Earth that with the help of a bunch of high-end beamers shows you a birds (satellites) eye view of the Earth.
Entry is 10 Euros, which also gives you access to the outside viewpoint from the top of the Gasometer for great views over the city.
Highly interesting and housing a number of fantastic gastronomic locations, Zollverein is a UNESCO world culture site with a number of brilliant museums inside.
Great Museum, beautiful sights, good for a walk
You can view everything at your own pace, but be advised that each item is labeled in German with English occasionally added to a few.
It gives a fantastic view on the high cultural standards of that epoque.
Just push on through and keep walking and the upper platforms have solid floors and stunning views.
Most underrated view point in Germany!

We were sitting in the East Stand section 15 which was a fantastic view however if you have trouble walking their are a lot of stairs.
... unfortunately FC Koln were playing away when I visited Cologne but thankfully when you visit the fan shop, right next to it there is an entrance to the stadium which gives you a decent view inside of the stadium.
Legends of crusades, pilgrimage and a masterpiece of art al in an outstanding casing, the world heritage site Cathedral.
One of the most impressive shrines and sights in Cologne and in the whole of Europe!
Pleasant walk around in the community and not far to walk to main sites around.
For the best views of the Cathedral, take the footpath from the park and climb up the hill towards the building.
Only the museum beside the front side obfuscate the view on the nice portal of the Cathedral

BayArena Leverkusen
Saw Bayer Leverkusen beat Eintracht Frankfurt in what was a pulsating game, all the more memorable because of the stadium, the atmosphere and the great view (we were in block B1).
Fantastic views from the whole arena.

This is a 19th century fantasy castle in the German Romantic style but the interiors are impressive and the views from the tower superb.
Rheinufer Dusseldorf
Walking down the prominade and the riverfront there are some wonderful buildings that look really cool, the views of the River Rhine are stunning and it was so nice clearing our heads after our beery night previous...
We ate breakfast & our evening meals here because the view is fabulous, the food plentiful and tasty at reasonable prices, and most of the staff are very welcoming and pleasant.
Veltins Arena Gelsenkirchen
Great inside excellent view where ever we were and great beer and sausage to add to the experience.
We sat in the Gazprom stand, close to the top which gave us a great view of the pitch and also the kop end which is worth watching in itself.
Just start walking and loose yourself to discover the wanders of this city, such as Roman Walls, magic views and some of the most exclusive shops or delicious pastries ever!
very nice site with colourful buildings, traditional style, with many markets full of pubs always crowded where you can taste the very good kolsh beer.

Konigsallee Dusseldorf
One of the most romantic attractions of this city... Would love to visot more often, since the magical view is just so romantic and calming.. Just love it!!
Best part is the location - a lot of sights are really walkable in Duesseldorf tbh, so you can just walk here or take a quick U-Bahn ride after touring Altstadt.
