What travellers are saying
- IrishRoverPittsburgh, PA2,987 contributionsVisited during the Christmas markets and it did not disappoint. Nuremberg rebuilt the charm after WW2 and it truly is a step back in time. Be prepared to walk and take your time as it is a fantastic placeWritten 26 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - FrankGeneva, Switzerland24 contributionsThis is a must go in Nuremberg. The visit of the castle gives a lot of information about the German history, absolutely great. I can only strongly recommend.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- IrishRoverPittsburgh, PA2,987 contributionsA walk back in history to a period of time that can’t be forgotten. The Court room 600 is a place where you share history the main doorway where the defendants where brought through comes to life
The audio tour on the next floor tells the story and really is worth 2 to 3 hours of listening to the story
Very well doneWritten 26 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The church and castle were worth seeing- castle is up a slight hill but all walkable areas.
It did rain on my visit day but still
A manged to have a nice afternoon.
I took a guided day trip from Munich but unless you really want a guided tour it is something you can do independently.
Bit your train tickets in advance and most of the area is walkable and it will make a pleasant day out of city of Munich- all near Nuremberg station and will be cheaper than the guided tour from Munich.Written 6 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I booked the €12-tour and frankly it would have been worth €100.
The exceptional guide, Marco, brought everything to life and was happy to reflect on the very obvious philosophical questions this place raises.
This tour revealed many shocking behind-the-scenes facts about how the grounds were conceived, the revolving propaganda surrounding them, and, ultimately, the Nazi's failure to complete the project, both physically and metaphorically.
There were moments when I was lost for words. One of them was the series of pictures and photos that give lie to the "we didn't know anything about it' post-war claims. A second was being able to stand exactly where Hitler gave speeches - on what is now a decaying and sorry looking monument.
For living proof that power is transient and that Nazi ideology was an elegantly choreographed illusion, this is the place to visit.Written 5 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We spent four hours there and mainly saw the highlights.Written 26 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JessOxford, UK9 contributionsAn amazing experience. Very easy to understand and the audio guides are great (most text isn’t in English). You can actually go into the courtroom / The highlight was definitely the video in the courtroom, it’s an amazing immersive show that should not be missed!!Written 10 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PavelBudapest, Hungary41 contributionsThis place is currently undergoing some sort of restoration, but probably at a slow pace, as there were no workers visible.
There are photos, how it looked before. It was completely demolished and a lot of work was done. But it is not enough yet - half of the place is closed for safety reasons, documentation center is closed too and the only information, you can get on boards is, how is are the restorations going, what is the intended state and how much it was damaged before. No relevant information on the history.
4* is the historical authenticity. If you are already in Nuremburg, dont miss it. If you plan to visit Nuremburg to see it, dont do that, you will be disappointed.Written 30 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I liked the the retro part of the museum , made me feel old! Lol
Our son also liked the kinder “touch and olay” area and riding the little train.
Wish the model train display was operating but maybe next time.Written 21 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The manatee house is simply outstanding. Do be sure to wear comfortable shoes though; I managed nearly 20000 steps traversing the whole park!Written 14 February 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - IrishRoverPittsburgh, PA2,987 contributionsFantastic church to visit we did like it a little more than St Lorenz. It sits on the edge of the market and is worth the stopWritten 26 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - IrishRoverPittsburgh, PA2,987 contributionsMany say that it is the best Christmas Market in Germany. I like the vibe here as it is a little less crowded than Munich. Overall the markets are easy to walk with plenty of food and beverages plus Christmas items it is a must to do if you are here in DecemberWritten 26 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
