Great building design and decor with well-displayed world and car history, and beautiful car and other vehicle displays. Free audio guide and all information in German and English. Well worth visiting and allow plenty of time. While I thought the animals might interest her more but both of us enjoyed the botanical gardens most and loved exploring the greenhouses & taking photos of the many different plant varieties.
It is a large zoo which goes up hill so prepare for some walking with lots of breaks for little legs.
Food is quite expensive so bring plenty of snacks. We got a bretzal with pesto, mozzarella & tomato the kiosk behind the pavilion for €4ish.

Head to the top floor, and you’ll be able to see the ingenuity of the architecture, staircase and different levels.

It was indeed a great show this evening! Here goes my five-star review...
Intimate close up magic is done right in front of your eyes in a lovely venue, with excellent stage lighting, an amazing ever-changing backdrop with tremendous detail and high-definition colour, brilliantly chosen accompanying music and sound effects, and most of all: excellent interaction with the audience giving the entire evening a truly close and enjoyable family feel from a wonderful supporting cast as well as the main man himself.
Mr Thorsten Strottman is a brilliant stage magician who has perfectly crafted his art over the last three decades and he really does have a vast array of skills and techniques. He mixes wonderful storytelling with anecdotes from his passion and education in magic, along with playful and witty humour - and isn't shy of picking on audience members throughout the performance.
As for the magic acts; the first half alone contained eleven different tricks. After a warm up involving rubber bands and handkerchiefs, we moved on to the famous ball and cups trick, and then solving the Rubix cube one handed whilst out of sight. Thereafter came the main events of the ever popular interlocking rings, disappearing coins, some strange socks (all will be revealed), and of course no magic show is complete without the customary card tricks - but a close up camera puts it all on the big screen for you to follow along. After a break of about 20 minutes, the show continued into the second half where things became bolder, bigger, and brighter. There is also the grand finale which I will not explain here, it's good to leave some suspense too... :-)
Regarding the language difficulty - it does not matter at all! As long as you are following the performance, that is the key. I remembered German words from school 25 years ago and that helped, but I would say I missed out on 10% of the show at most as it really does not matter.
I highly recommend visiting this show when you have time in Stuttgart - I came alone (and have experience of watching many magic shows), but it is without doubt a better experience as part of a group e.g. birthdays or an evening out.
The bar serves a full range of alcohol and non-alcoholic beverages and snacks, and afterwards I took a short 10 minute walk to the Bottroper Strasse U-bahn (U12 line) stop and was at the main central station in less than 15 minutes.

Something like this probably happened before. At least there was a military platz, but that's in the distant past. The castle in the center that gave the square its name is baroque with elements of classicism and looks more like a palace, and the square can be called more like a Palace Square as in St. Petersburg. Fortunately, the grateful liberals of Stuttgart put the corresponding column in honor of King William, who granted them a bicameral parliament. Very nice fountains. In one of them the figures are original, and in the second the sculptures were stolen in 1945 in the confusion of the Franco-American occupation. If you look at the New Castle, then the art building of the Württemberg Art Association adjoins it on the left. Next to it is the Queen Olga building, favored by the Dresdner Bank. To the right of the new castle will be the Old Castle, next to which is a memorial to Colonel Klaus Stauffenberg, the organizer of the assassination attempt on Hitler in July 1944. Klaus' father held a high position at the court of Wilhelm II, the last king of Württemberg. Behind the back there are two buildings of the Konigsbau, built in the style of late classicism in 1855-1859. We looked at some of the nineteenth and twentieth century art. Many of the big names of the are represented - paintings by Friedrich, Carus, Monet, Gauguin, Picasso, Braque, Leger and many more grabbed my attention. If only we had had more time! We will go back when we are next in Stuttgart.
At the moment a lot of building work is being done around the main railway station in Stuttgart. Signs that appear to be directing you straight from the station to the Staatsgalerie are in fact taking you to the Staatsgalerie U-Bahn station from where the way to the gallery was not clear. The work is due to be completed in the next few months, I think.
One oddity of the museum is that visitors are not allowed to take any bags into the galleries, including ladies' handbags. They have a great tower from where you have a beautiful view on the park and Stuttgart. You can walk and also play. There are even flamingos. - MerrowmumGuildford, UK1,374 contributionsMy husband and I were surprised to discover that the world’s first TV tower was built in Stuttgart. It’s a pleasant U-bahn trip from the centre of the city and then a flat 5-10 minute walk through woods to reach the tower.
The views from the viewing platform, even on a slightly cloudy December day, were gorgeous - we could still see quite some way in all directions. It's framed by department stores, cafes and restaurants and runs through the Schlossplatz, a large open space extending onto the "Neue Schloss" the previous residency of the King and royalty of Baden-Württemberg.
This part is a picturesque square framed by colonnaded buildings where food and other festivals, including the awesome Christmas Market and the Weindorf are held through the year.

Lots to see, rides for the kids, decorated stalls, moving characters, lots for Gluehwein (mulled wine) of different sorts to keep you warm. Go there with an empty stomach as you will surely want to try all the different food! Lovely light displays on the main square too.
