... from technology, wars, music, cars (obviously), politics, etc. Definitely the best museum I have ever visited (note that while I'm an avid museum visitor, I haven't had the chance to visit that many museums.
This is one of the more interesting museums - the history of the Mercedes line is superbly displayed; and the exhibits between the floors provides historic context to each decade displayed.
Kunsthalle Wurth Museum Schwabisch Hall
I have visited many museums, but this had exactly the kind of art that I love, and all FOR FREE... the information it gave about the art and paintings was super interesting and nicely done.
Sensitively hung, often alongside old masters such as Cranach, this is a wonderful museum, brilliantly situated above the Kocher River with wonderful views of the old town.
This museum is a must for anyone with an interest in vehicles and aircraft , the exhibits are well laid out and unlike a lot of UK museums staff were far from prissy about people actually getting close to the exhi...
One of the most interesting museums of this kind I've ever been to
Many people come to Stuttgart to visit the Mercedes or Porsche museum, but the best kept secret is Mielenwerk.
For overseas visitors this is more like an auto-museum with so many different beauties - all housed harmonously under one roof across different brands and eras.
Augustinermuseum Freiburg im Breisgau
Lots of original stained glass windows and statues from the Cathedral - Take a day pass for 3 museums (substantial reduction)
This is an amazing museum. The works are so well displayed and it blew us away. One of the best small musuems we have ever been to.A must-see, if, like us, you enjoy medieval art.
Galleries share late night openings, and every 6 months or so there is the Long Night At The Museums, wherein all the museums, galleries, and even a mineral spa, stay open late.
Also and one of the country's most visited museums.
Besides the showroom and the museum, the most interesting thing to do here is to participate in the guided architecture tour, a fantastic tour in which you have the possibility to admire some buildings designed by...
Excellent museum of architecture and furniture desing from all over the world started in the 40's by the Felhbaum Family.
Margarete Steiff Museum Giengen an der Brenz
Our family of Steiff enthusiasts really had a great time at the Steiff museum where we learned about Margaret Steiff and the company's history and enjoyed taking photos with life size animals and cool attractions...
The museum tour (which is fully automated) is available in English and everyone in our group loved being led through the different, rooms and learning about the history of the teddy bear.
The German tour was over our heads, but the museum is a stunning recreation of the stilt homes discovered on the lake from an early civilization.
The visit to the museum starts with an interactive show which is great, though in German.
Porsche Museum Stuttgart
My family and I also visited the BMW and Mercedes museums but enjoyed the Porsche museum best of all.
Recently visited Lamborghini and Ferrari museums and whilst they were good this one is the best all round.
Museum Frieder Burda Baden-Baden
One of my favorite museums in the world (another is the Louisiana in Kopenhagen).
One of the more attractive modern European Art Museums
Burg Meersburg Meersburg (Bodensee)
Furthermore, what's there feels more like visiting your grandmother's house (assuming she were about 500 years old) than a museum.
Zeppelin Museum Friedrichshafen
Allow plenty of time for your visit, this is one of the very best museums we have ever visited.
Friefrichshafen is the beautiful town, the Zeppelin museum has blended and harmonized perfectly as one significant part of this fascinating charming town.
I was directed to start at the top of the museum and see all Centuries of technology as I descended.
Very interesting museum, great place for children
Dornier Museum Friedrichshafen
Excellent visit to this outstanding museum which is both very informative and fun for all ages with plenty of hands-on exhibits (including sitting into aircraft) which is on a par with museums such as the Smithson...
It was a little different from most aviation museums, which made a nice change.
We have been to many open air living museums all over the world and this was one of the best with furnishings, period dress and costumes, vegetable gardens, animals, farm implements and wagons on display.
Its only fault is that perhaps it's a bit too big, we spent a good 1/2 day here in the heat and were pretty tired by the end, but it is one of the better open air museums that we've been to.
VitraHaus Weil am Rhein
Entrance to VitraHaus is free, but it is definitely suggested to visit the Design Museum & the new SchausDepot & to take the architectural tours of the campus.
Like a modern design museum... and free!!!
Our young children loved the Fairytale Gardens while their grandmother enjoyed the museums.
There are a couple museums inside the Palace, a gallery, a shop, and two tours.

Well worth a visit if in castle as this is one of best pharmacy museums to be seen anywhere.
There are some lovely scenes of historically inspired pharmacist shops throughout the museum, along with artwork, objects and tools of the trade, providing a fascinating insight into the way a pharmacy industry gr...
9 Ways to experience it
There two museums here with temporary exhibitions.
Nice, large museum of contemporary art.
As a university graduate in Celtic and Anglo-Saxon Studies with History, museums are one of my must visits while on holiday.
This museum covers the history of Württemberg from the Stone Age to the 19th century, which includes very interesting displays about the various peoples who have settled in the region (early humans, Celts, Romans)...
Large museum with sections showing sea life, stones, insects and many other forms of nature with a huge part of special exhibition that changes frequently and can be visited for an additional price.
Amazing museum - especially for children on bad-weather days.
German Clock Museum Furtwangen
It is a well laid out museum with exhibits of timepieces of all ages and styles and includes regular demonstrations of a large clock with a host of interesting features.
We spend over 2 hours inside it is a great museum about the history of Glock making and some great glocks from germany, there is one level that they have a special play of a very old glock, worth see it, just ask...
So if you´d like to visit this museum for kids you should plan your stay in Heilbronn soon.
Erwin-Hymer-Museum Bad Waldsee
The museum itself we greatly enjoyed and despite a couple of minor glitches from the electronics (they were minor) we were able to enter fully into the story of German (with brief mentions of other nationalities)...
Amazing museum: must see
The Black Forest Open Air Museum is located between Hausach and Gutach in the Black Forest (Schwarzwald) of Germany, this interactive museum has several huge buildings that have been relocated from different parts...
This is amongst the smallest museum I've visited, but it was able to educate me On the small town, it's history, culture, people, watches, orchestral instrument, mines etc.
There are other museums that are connected to the castle that have collections of militaria.
Nice castle, now a great museum.
