What travellers are saying
- Traveller_123San Francisco, CA860 contributionsWhat a pretty view ! Nature at its best. Beautiful walking beach. Great place to retire if someone is French and rich. Nice cafes besides the water.Written 31 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- AnaOrchidLondon67 contributionsI took a cheap flight at a good time from London Stansted to Biarritz in October half term. An easy 15 minute (and only £1.40) bus ride into town made reaching my hostel very easy.
I stayed in a hostel called Outsite Coliving Biarritz in a fab location. Great facilities and atmosphere too.
Beaches all walkable, lighthouse and views worth a walk to. Lovely market in the mornings for fresh produce (I had breakfast here of coffee and fresh eggs)
When it drizzled I took myself to the Aquarium which is well worth £15 and very well presented. Lots of nice bars and places to eat, a few independent shops too. I walked everywhere but buses looked easy enough to use. I loved watching the people surfing and reading my book on the beach. A lovely safe and relaxing few days.Written 10 November 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They stopped the seal feeding during covid but you can still enjoy watching them through the large window.
Best bit is the large tank with sharks etc.Written 9 January 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. In the end this involved climbing the steep steps where the promenade ceased.
But it was worth persevering because the lighthouse and its grounds were attractive and provided great views back to Biarritz and to the long beach northwards.
One of the free electric buses took us back to townWritten 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was well worth going.Written 9 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- DavidG897London, UK3,075 contributionsInitially, it was hard to imagine how the fishing boats actually would put to sea, assuming they were in the water in one of the interlinked harbours. Then we realised that there was an exit by them going under the bridges towards the single route out. But that depends on it not being low tide and, after exit, negotiating whatever rocks had to be passed by safely.Written 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DavidG897London, UK3,075 contributionsOur hotel was located close by the Bellevue square. This afforded great views of the show below that emphasised the power of the sea that over aeons of time has been eroding the coastlineWritten 22 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - seema60Toronto, Canada947 contributionsLovely little beach next to the grande plage. It seemed crowded but the waves seemed calmer. There were no cabins to rent here so I preferred the grande plage. It’s also surrounded by restaurants and music.Written 10 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- seema60Toronto, Canada947 contributionsBeautiful church in the middle of the town square. It has some lovely architecture. It is very striking from the outside.Written 10 July 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- euan ccamberwell, london8 contributionsQuieter than other beaches in August. Lovely views. The sea is rough here as everywhere along this coastline so care should be taken. Several people including adult men swept off their feet and grazed knees etc. Not so much swimming but able to bob about against the waves. Lifeguards active on the beach.
Great beach cafe with delicious food and great evening views. Kiosk for icecreams too. Free bus will take you there and back to the centre. Play area for children also.Written 29 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. If you have time it's a nice, spacious place to spend 1-2 hours, otherwise it's not a must visit in Biarritz.Written 26 August 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Wesley CTucson, AZ9,878 contributionsEglise St, Alexandre Nevsky is an impressive Russian Orthodox Church. It was opened in 1870 by the Russian aristocrats who traveled to Biarritz to escape the brutal Russian winters. Very attractive exterior with an ornate interior. No photos were allowed inside.Written 17 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
