The tour of St. Emilion was interesting with many delightful suggestions for lunch. We played a super fun wine game on the way home. The cheese we very different but very delicious. we wanted to be adventurous and she gave us just that. - bac26Charlotte, NC1,047 contributionsWe were a small group from U.S., Australia, and U.K. lead by our wine tasting and e-bike guide Yan who matched each of us with our bike and height. Off we went biking through the beautiful scenery outside of Saint Emilion. Absolutely stunning.
The chateaus we visited were beautiful and their wine was excellent. This was my first time on an e-bike and it won’t be my last. The group was friendly and we shared lots of laughs. The tour guide Theo was incredibly knowledgeable in both wine as well as the rich history of Saint Emilion. We were able to learn so much. It is great value for money, as the tickets included a full day of transport, a walking tour of Saint Emilion, 4 wine tastings 2 of which were in depth tours across right bank and left bank, picnic lunch and as we were a smaller group and had more time, Theo showed us some amazing chateaus and chocolate shops. - williamdI8532BE4 contributionsJustine did an excellent job of melding the small group together into a talkative bunch with simple questions for people to answer through to a fun testing of smells for red wine as the tour drew to a close. Three chateaux created a contrast, but all were "rooted" in cabernet sauvignon-dominant offerings at tastings, although several of the wines between the three actually had greater amounts of merlot, which was a surprise. Met some great people at the three châteaus we visited and got to sample some very nice wines along the way. The picnic lunch was amazing, enjoyed with a glass of wine next to the vines!
