You meet the amazing crew and pick the brand new E Bikes up at a garage downtown and set off on a 5 hour masterclass. Stopping at points en route to the vineyard to bring history and culture to life.
After wonderful cycling through quiet countryside you arrive at a Chateau where a brilliant guide brings the history and principles behind the famous Bordeaux wines.
Fabulous wine tasting followed by lunch at a small restaurant in a quiet village.
An unexpected twist was meeting new friends as the people on our tour were as interesting as the tour itself,
Stay away from the tourists traps and see the real Bordeaux with this brilliant tour,

- Jan PWindsor, UK26 contributionsThis was anticipated to be the highlight and even the main purpose of our visit to Bordeaux and Catherine our guide made it absolutely so. She picked us up at our hotel in her lovely Range Rover, stopped off for a special local treat from the bakery en route and gave us lots of information about the history of the area and the appellations as we went. We visited 3 wineries each quite different from the others but all very interesting and worthwhile. The first one was especially lovely with a tasting of 5 wines inside the chateau. At the second and third , we saw the harvest in full flow as well as tasting more delicious wine. Between the first and second we had a lovely lunch in a restaurant just outside St Emilion which was delightful. Just a brilliant day, superbly organised and executed by Catherine. The lunch she arranged was AWESOME! Very flexible in setting our 2 days up, paying attention to our "faves". We have long deferred learning about French wines but have been curious to learn more for some time. We splurged for an all-day tour of three Médoc wineries with Nicolle Croft. We were very glad that we did.
Nicolle specializes in finding, as the name says, small independent producers of excellent and reasonably priced wines. We were delighted to try them and brought some home. She's extremely knowledgeable about the wines of France and their makers.

She really knows what she's talking about. She also offers a great value for anyone who wants a private tour for just one person. Both wineries she picked were very welcoming and provided me a private tour and tasting. They were both well paced and very informative. They were also both eager to find exactly what I wanted without trying to upsell me. We were very fortunate to see the grape harvest, destemming, and sorting process. As an added bonus, Alais took us to a chocolate factory with lots of free samples. Of course we purchased wine and chocolate at each stop.
