Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying

- BillandAnne2015Gatineau, Canada143 contributionsHaving been blown away by the exhibits, wine-yeasting and the architecture of the Cité du vin on a Sunday afternoon, we had developed a hankering for food and beverages. Les Halles was across the street and, given the day, throngs of locals surrounded the place. We did a tour and decided to settle at a table with a good view of the place where we’d just been and tried to figure out how to order as waiters or waitresses seemed to be scarce. Eventually, we asked a waitress, who informed us that we could order drinks but not food outside, which seemed a bit weird, but whatever.
So we went inside to Romeo’s Pizza and things got strange again. One side of the restaurant served French food and the other, where we had sat down, was Italian. Paul, the waiter, seemed to be a nice enough young man and quite attentive, so we decided to share a Pizza Bichette, which featured a healthy dollop of burrata cheese plopped in the middle. It was excellent. Thin crust and perfectly cooked. Now that we know what to expect at this place, we’d happily go back to try something else!
The one downside of Les Halles de Bacalan is that there is only one bathroom for women. When the place is crowded, the line up can be excruciatingly long. By contrast, the men’s room was not busy at all.Written 23 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We were greeted by a lovely lady who explained the process and pricing. We were in! I’m about 15 minutes my husband and I had pictures done of our iris’ which is totally easy - same sort of machine you look into at a ophthalmology appointment. They will show you the preview and print for you at the shop. Prices are very reasonable, to include a nice frame for 25€. Out the door we spent about 80€ but have a really interesting and personalized picture to bring home. I have not seen this in the US so definitely something unique.Written 12 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WondermoreSanta Rosa, CA139 contributionsWhat an amazing cheese shop. We wanted to buy everything! A young man helped us. So informative and knowledgeable. He said he’d been working there 5 years but in the industry for a number of years. We picked a couple of cheese then asked him for his recommendations and then bought them. They were delicious! We’ve had two “cheese nights” in our rental and will return tomorrow for cheese for our road trip north. My new favorite cheese shop in France!Written 8 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- PandaHoustonHouston, TX6,120 contributionsBought 4 pieces of macarons for .80 each. They were very good. Not too sweet and very fresh tasting. I liked it better than Laduree.
We also bought a piece of Kouignette for 1.60. That was a little too sweet. - Deirdre C49 contributionsI happened upon this little shop the other day. It's an inviting space run by a warm and generous woman named Sophie. She has a lovely selection of teas, condiments, mixes, and many other food items from England and America as well as other imported items. Well worth a look in and enjoy whatever tasting she has on.Written 13 November 2015This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
