Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We absolutely LOVED this tour!! Our amazing guide (Praying Howard) was super knowledgeable and funny too! We learned a lot and especially enjoyed the underground portion. Highly recommend the evening tour!! It was well worth the cost and we didn’t expect so many laughs along the way!

Carlos was a great host on our foodie tour of Edinburgh. His knowledge of the history and culture of the city was excellent and between the gastronomic delights of Scottish Cuisine, Carlos told us about the city and gave the whole thing context.
The dishes were well chosen examples of quintessential Scottish meals, well-judged and the venues all welcomed us warmly and accommodated us smoothly - very professional.
I highly recommend a tour with Carlos.

The guide was personable, knowledgeable, and sensitive to the groups needs. She was entertaining and everything you would want in a guide. We didn't end where the listing instructions said we would nor were the red badges or red umbrella's visible which was curious. She was carrying an umbrella as sign of her position but it was not red. There were no other guides in the area wearing red badges or carrying red umbrellas and the guide had our information although didn't ask for tickets. If the tour we went on was the Sandeman's tour, I couldn't tell you. It was however, a terrific tour of Edinburgh at night. I highly recommend the experience.

We went on a 2 hour guided tour with a group of students. We were fortunate to have Alison as our guide. She expertly led us through the nooks and crannies of the lovely city of Edinburgh. Alison is the most kind, knowledgeable and attentive guide. She was excellent at giving precise instruction (which is important when guiding a group of teens) and we high recommend her for your next tour of Edinburgh.

This was the best tour I’ve ever taken. Cheers to Kieran our tour guide who was amazing, at engaging with all of us in the group and just so knowledgeable about both Harry Potter and Edinburgh. Would highly recommend for any HP fans to book the tour and ask for Kieran.

We spent a wonderful evening at the distillery, learning all about the history of Scottish whisky and sampling the different types. Marina was fantastic - extremely knowledgeable and very passionate about Scotland's history of whisky making. Thank you Marina for a great visit!

We had a great tour today with Steuart who was very knowledgeable and made the tour good fun despite some less than ideal weather. We were very impressed by him being able to give the address to the Haggis by memory and he also introduced us to some great scottish shortbread to take home.
There were lots of interesting stops on the route and it was nice Steuart could tailor it a little bit to our group's interests.
Overall a great tour that we would highly recommend to anyone wanting to learn more about Edinburgh.

Enjoyed walking the Royal Mile in Edinburgh with our knowledgeable guide. She used a microphone and everyone in the group had headsets, so it it was easy to hear everything she said. It would have been nice if she could explored Edinburgh Castle with the group, but the information she gave us about the castle was interesting and informative. It was a good tour.

John is an amazing tour guide -- intelligent, articulate, knowledgeable, entertaining, warm and witty. We booked this tour on the morning of our arrival in Edinburgh and it was the perfect introduction to the city. John taught us so much about the castle in a lively, informative and interactive presentation. We've taken many walking tours in our travels around the world, and this was the best one yet. Thanks so much John!

My husband and I spent an afternoon with Svend-Erik. We were on and off the Royal Mile. Svend-Erik is an interesting story teller. We learned history and interesting points we would not have learned on our own. We thought that the time was very worthwhile and would recommend the tour and Svend-Erik to others!
