Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

- 3ts1966Norwich, UK530 contributionsFabulous reserve.
Got to see a pair of Choughs even though blowing a gale and rain intermitent!
Plenty of places to walk and dogs on leadsWritten 18 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Gorgeous cypress trees & eucalyptus trees.
The food was quite dear (as is NT standard) & we got semi-frozen pizza first time around but they fixed this quickly & with a smile.
The sad part was frisbee golf. A fun activity which can be done in various locations in the UK. We were told we couldn’t hire frisbees (as many places do) but we had to buy them at £4.50 per frisbee! The sign by the frisbees in the shop said ‘perfect for frisbee golf!’ - an activity offered on their site. When we were purchasing, the person on the counter said ‘these are recycled plastic so fragile - take care not to hit any trees’. We replied ‘…but you have located the frisbee golf course in a wood?’ ‘Yes’ came the response. So, the frisbee inevitably broke, hitting the pole of the frisbee golf hole, & we spotted a couple of other shards of broken frisbee on our way round the course. We informed them that the sign was misleading (see photo) & I think they have since removed it but they really need to rethink the recycled plastic frisbees which are not fit for purpose, end up broken quickly and require more energy for disposal, and are very expensive for what should be an accessible family activity & a lovely way to spend time in nature.Written 29 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Different areas within the garden with many hidden pathways to explore. Easy parking, welcoming staff and great cafe & toilets.Written 30 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - themilnesLondon, UK58 contributionsAfter reading about Newborough Forest in a 'Nature of Anglesey' book, we decided to pop there while we were having a holiday on Anglesey. The book told us what we might be able to see whilst there, so we turned up with a bit of a wish list!
We went to visit the island first, which was a lovely walk with beautiful scenery. Then we headed into the forest where we were thrilled to see a red squirrel, ravens, a couple of hooded crows and even some lizards. Brilliant! Of course, you have to be quite patient and we went into areas where there weren't many other people which probably helps, but there is lots to see and the forest is lovely in its own right.
We were also impressed at how clean the area was in general. I don't know if there is an efficient army of people keeping it clean or if people visiting are actually well-behaved and don't drop litter but it was lovely to see it largely unspoilt by discarded litter. We only came across one can and a plastic bag, both of which we picked up.
Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable day with beautiful scenery and wildlife. The forest seems really well managed.Written 17 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Car park is ANPR and pay on exit. £2 for first 2 hours, max £7 for the day. Open toilets and an ice cream van but no other food/drink options when we visited
Lighthouse is cut off at high tide for a short time if you don't want to get wet!Written 20 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - shropshirenickShrewsbury, UK20,329 contributionsThis is a lovely sandy beach, but you need to plan your visit well, as at high tide there is only a small section of beach. This section is dog friendly and my dog thoroughly enjoyed a run round on the sand and a paddle in the sea. A lovely part of Anglesey.Written 2 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Anita C1 contributionThis is my second visit to Sea Zoo, the other being over 10 years ago. It didn't look like much if anything had changed. It's a lovely little aquarium and I did enjoy many of the exhibits.
However
Several of the ramps are well over the advised 12 degrees making them difficult for a slightly unfit independent wheelchair user to navigate. My daughter pushed half way up one of them only to lose momentum and career backwards towards a friend who tripped over an uneven patch trying dodge. No significant injuries, but daughter scuffed xer hands up trying to hold the tyres to control xer descent and friend bruised hands and knees due to a hard landing.
From my seat down at child's eye level, I spent most of my visit straining and stretching to read any of the information as it was all at eye line with a tall adult. Much of the information was slightly water mottled making it harder to read.
Finally, we get to the "disabled toilet". Now, I know that this is a small business and the economy is difficult so investing in facilities falls below paying for the upkeep of the animals but... There is no red cord and the lock is not easy to operate from the outside in an emergency if it was possible to raise the alarm. The hand towel container was above a wheelchair user's comfortable reach as was the door lock. Finally, the toilet itself was wobbly, not an issue for myself, but could be very dangerous to someone who has poor balance and needs to transfer with no ability to recruit legs or lower core.Written 9 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - RosenessUK2 contributionsMany seal pups right now if you walk to the far corner and look back on the coves towards the quarry and the sea break. Shout out for the lovely people Will (I think he's the local ranger?) and Charlotte who is a total love and who we shared our sighting with and their recommendations for other places to go and see. Those beautiful mewling seal calls, the pups are already learning to swim and are playing in the sea with their mums. Quite early this year I was told. Good information available in the shelter in car park. The cafe just next to car park is a social enterprise and just really great. Really good brunch, great atmosphere, ambience and attitude. Love this spot, best of Holyhead imo. Highly recommend!Written 25 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Interesting history and provides great views.
Easy and more difficult tracks available to walk.Written 17 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - shropshirenickShrewsbury, UK20,329 contributionsWe came here in the hope of seeing red squirrels and it did not disappoint. We saw quite a few, they are fed by locals and are relatively tame. The nature reserve is quite small, but is a lovely place to pass an hour or two. As well as the red squirrels there is a lot of bird life. A lovely place for a walk.Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Helen WHook, UK56 contributionsHidden gem of a beach!
The track is great for young kids because it is mostly beaten down so no off-roading with a pram however, it is rocky but doable.
Beach is lovely, a little hidden cove.
