Hauteville House St Peter Port
#2 of 20 Sights & Landmarks in Guernsey
The house itself is fascinating with spectacular views and you can feel how the famous man loved this house and it's fascinating to see how he lived.
Entry to the gardens, which are open for a few hours twice a day, is free, and the garden is a tranquil, well-tended area with a lovely view of the rear of the house across azalea bushes, lawns and shrubs.
The Little Chapel Les Vauxbelets

Fort Grey and Shipwreck Museum St Pierre du Bois
#5 of 20 Sights & Landmarks in Guernsey
Lovely little museum with lots of local shipwreck history, relics and views outside outstanding!
A good view of the fort is from across the road at the Guernsey Pearl Shop and Café whilst enjoying a good cup of tea and local toasted fruit bread known as “Gache” – delicious.

This site has been caringly restored, it is good to be able to show different generations what happened during WW2, you would be surprised at how few people realise that the islands were occupied during the war.
The observation tower and dolman battery are in fact two separate sites a very short distance apart.

The underground hospital was built during the Nazi occupation and visiting the site is a poignant reminder of that occupation.
It was actually used as a hospital for casualties from D-Day and so from the German point of view proved its worth.
Sausmarez Manor St Martins
#8 of 20 Sights & Landmarks in Guernsey
The other advantage of stopping at the site is that we were able to take advantage of the beautiful weather and sit out and walk the wonderful grounds after hours.
The house is well presented and the museum gives a realistic view of life in Guernsey in the past.

I have to admit, I panicked when I got inside (and how) several steep spiral staircases (with landings to take a breather) - then at the top, the most wonderful views over St. Peter Port.
Shame you cant go right to the top, but you still high enough to make some nervous, and its a totally different view of St Peter Port, all for free!
