When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A beautiful place with a good view of Rangitoto Island. It also offers a good view of the city and you cannot miss Sky Tower from here. It is an easy climb up and you can enjoy the views as the path up winds around the hill.

Small but mighty. This interesting museum highlights the contributions (and sacrifices) of this small isolated nation to world conflicts in the name of humanity.
Plus it has a great restaurant

Great beach with a good mix of sand, grass, rocks and nearby cafes. Perfect for swimming, sunbathing, walking or just relaxing. Fantastic early in the mornings when the tide is low.

We wanted to go to a market on Sunday and after not having been to Takapuna for quite a while, decided to go there. I was surprised to find out that the market would not be in its current location for much longer. It looks like August is their final month. What a shame. This is pretty much a Takapuna institute.

The market has an eclectic mix of stalls, ranging from plants to crafts, produce to food vendors. We mainly went for the food. One stand out was the Sri Lankan stall. The samosas were tasty and the pakodas to die for!

On the other hand, we bought some soft tofu from a different vendor and it had gone off and tasted sour.

Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again!- Bjorn Again perform live in Auckland - amazing energy at Bruce Mason Centre. Bjorn Again trumps with rollicking good fun, sing-along melodies of way back when; enduring timeless hits. Glitzy 70s costumes, we get to DressUp as well – just fab! Young, older fans, 'n' enthusiasts in-between of ABBA - fantastic.. (I have gait/walking challenges (stroke), wear a legbrace.)

Went with my niece while up in Auckland for a mini trip, was definitely one of the top high lights of the trip! Wish we had more playgrounds like this one around, even managed to get up to the top a few times for a slide down ❤️

A great little walk and well worth the time.

Spectacular views of Mitre Peak and all the rest. Best to time it for high tide if you can IMO.

A well formed path and flat for kids and older folks.

Without the international tourists, it was blissfully quiet, which made it even better. I dread the day that the floodgates open and it gets overwhelmed again.

We arrived at closing timing, but the volunteers there, opened up for us and we had a great hour walking around with our own personal guide. It’s quirky, loads of local stuff a church they moved down the hill. Go and visit it for an hour.

They generally get 20 visitors a day

A lovely playground for the kids, or a romantic spot for a picnic, The beach is not suitable for long walks, by the reserve next door is.

For uninterrupted views of the skyline of Auckland, we decided to visit Cyril Bassett lookout. Great views but the best thing about this lookout was the fact that it was quiet. We were there for about 30min and the whole time we were the only ones there.

It is a very basic lookout with 2 park benches and the location is nestled among residential houses and no parking (other than street parking) which is understandable as it is a residential area and not a touristy gathering point.

So much bird noise in here! I take my 3 yr old regularly to either walk or ride around the boardwalk. In summer it's nice to escape the sunshine and in winter it's nice to do a bush walk and come out with clean shoes.
