Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Kira-lee H5 contributionsBeautiful views of the city of Auckland nice walk we enjoyed as a family 2 adults 3 children great photo opportunities definitely worth the trip. As Australian tourist we loved it. Google maps seemed to struggle finding the place took us to potters Park instead but we managed to find it.Written 21 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jeremy R T DeanKumeu, New Zealand14 contributionsIt did help that we had a glorious cloudless March day but what a magical place Tiritiri Matangi is! The replanted natives are well on their way to being a shaded forest and the birdlife is incredible. Surely no-where else in the world has such beautiful birdsong. The volunteer guides do an incredible job - Ian stepped our group of friends and family through the history and geography and wildlife in such interesting detail. Not enough time at the top around the lighthouse but we did have plenty of time for a swim after the short walk down to the wharf before the ferry arrived to collect us at 4pm. A magic day.Written 24 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- ZimminaroundtheworldOkinawa Prefecture, Japan1,983 contributionsI highly recommend a day trip to Rangitoto Island from Auckland. It's a 30 ish minute ferry ride. You pretty much come here to hike, so keep that in mind. There are no stores or anything on the island so come prepared for the day and wear comfortable clothes. The hike to the summit was easy and scenic. I also di the coastal trail which was my favorite. It took about 2.5-3 hours to complete the summit and coastal trail. The landscape was unique, you pass lava fields and beautiful coast lines. Just remember when the ferry departs, you don't want to get stranded!Written 7 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Relax5972541,111 contributionsLong climb up! I think there is only one way in, through Olive Grove. Get to see sheep along the way. Cool weather and strong winds in early November, saw many locals jogging up and tourists taking the climb.Written 10 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ChamirChristchurch, New Zealand8 contributionsHey, we just had the coolest family day out at Cornwall Park! The kids went nuts for the children's playground, while we parents couldn't get enough of the views. It's like, one minute you're watching sheep grazing peacefully, and the next you're staring at this crazy volcanic landscape. Talk about a trip through time! We packed a picnic and made a whole day of it. Seriously, if you're in Auckland with the fam, you've gotta check this place out. It's a total win for everyone!Written 16 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Anonymous855Trabuco Canyon, California1,810 contributionsLoved the day we spent here...even got a little lost and didn't mind at all. The cafe in Wintergarden is delightful with seating outside next to the pond. We are walkers so it was a treasure. Took the bus here and back to our hotel. - Debbi Dmattapoisett, ma765 contributionsThis is a beautiful vineyard. It was filled with young people taking photos for Instagram. The view was nice but if you want a great experience at a winery for grown ups go to Batch Winery. Much more beautiful, better wine and less "influencers"Written 11 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TheLeongOhanaUnited States7,875 contributionsThis was a pretty park that we wandered through during our walk around Auckland.
We started on the University of Auckland side and walked through the park to the Art Museum.
Flowers were in bloom and tall, mature trees were nice to see throughout the park. In the center, there was a grouping of cannons next to a small memorial to veterans along with a statue of Queen Victoria.
If it wasn’t for the off and on sprinkles then we would have spent more time here since they had lots of benches all around the park.Written 8 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A well known surf club and holiday Park are icons of the area.
Erosion of the foreshore is a matter that is being reduced by the ongoing action of the local Council.Written 5 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Car park is 10 min walk uphill to see the gannets upclose from boarded walkways. Fascinating to see the gannets fly and land with great precision. Baby gannets were so cute and we saw some territorial fights. Very windy area so wear your windbreakersWritten 17 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- angchweeleng127 contributionsA beautiful place with a good view of Rangitoto Island. It also offers a good view of the city and you cannot miss Sky Tower from here. It is an easy climb up and you can enjoy the views as the path up winds around the hill.Written 10 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Bruce PSurrey, Canada130 contributionsYou should go here. It is about 1.5 hours drive from Auckland. You go near dusk and walk into the park. Go to the forest trails and you can find Kiwi birds if you are quiet. Bring along flashlights and put red plastic over them or bring lights that are red as the kiwi's can't see red. Also bring bug spray. This place was the highlight of our trip!Written 3 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
