- MuzzamuzzamuzzaWellington, New Zealand150 contributionsWe arrived at the pools after tramping from Okupu for about 16km, so we were very happy to see them for a break and a soak. Expectations matter - these are not clean and tidy hot pools like you find in Rotorua. They are raw and murky. The lower pool is easily accessed and there is a path up to the upstream pools. To get to the most upstream pool you have to clamber across rocks and over a fallen tree trunk. It was worth the effort - it was waist-deep and warm. Just here to complain about prices an how dirty the whole inside pool is , I ended up with a bad infection to my eyes from how dirty it is in your pools . So disappointed at this it was my first an last time going here.
So not happy at all to be very honest .
