Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Tania D49 contributionsAfter the rather soulless Auckland CBD, it was nice to walk a couple of kilometres to Ponsonby; a place with a good vibe, lots of people sitting at cafes, vintage stores and upmarket boutiques too. Loads of good restaurants and food options. And if you take a stroll down the side streets of Ponsonby Road, you’ll be charmed by the lovely period homes, wide tree lined streets and tranquility.Written 30 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - senorita08Perth, Australia198 contributionsGreat area to wander around, plenty of cafes and restaurants, interesting shops, parks and gardens. Close to the Auckland Domain. For ease I would catch the train or bus to the top of Parnell Rd then walk back down the steep hill to the Harbour/ City!Written 9 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Barbara Crutchfield6 contributionsPretty cool hotel with an emphasis on sustainability. The only problem I had really was that the rooms were a little small. Seemed that there was not a lot of space to set out our luggage. The location was great and everyone at the hotel was very helpful. I would stay there againWritten 13 November 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
