Our guide Tina (Tiana?) to Point Reigna and 90 mile Beach was excellent. She is such a hard worker, driving the bus, providing commentary, serving lunch, and keeping track of everyone. Our guide in Russell was excellent also. They both made the tour a lot of fun.
We loved Urupukapuka Island on the Hole in the Rock cruise- we could have spent an entire day there. The tour of the Waitangi Treaty Grounds was beautiful and educational. Since our hotel was so close to the bus station, the taxi was unnecessary - in fact, upon return, we did not see the cab and walked back. To the driver’s credit, she followed up and attempted to locate us. In the future, maybe make taxi pickups optional.
The motel choice was excellent - next to the water and outstanding room design and layout plus it was immaculately clean.

FlexitoursNZ gave us the best service concerning our trip/tour to Rotorua. Everything worked ok and beyond the expectations. They accomplished and arranged all our requirements, so we had the best experience in this trip from Aukland to Rotorua for 2 days. If you have any doubt or inquiries, they answer the telephone and e-mails immediately. The drivers/guides, all of them, were amazing, and they drive very carefully. We visited 5 attractions, all of them wonderfull. This is really an excellent agency, and we recommend to everybody that come to NZ to get its tours.

The tour was just amazing. The sun was out, skies were blue and we were surrounded by the beautiful Pacific Ocean. With the “Motus” as landscape everything looked picture-perfect!
Our Cheeky driver/tour guide, Lance, was very kind, polite and entertaining. We enjoyed his many stories about the history of the land, it’s people and their customs.
    Yes...I’d do it again!

Warren was a great tour guide. I’m sorry he got stuck with us for 3 days…😂He answered all of our questions, taught me how to pronounce everything properly (even though I think I forgot most of it) and was very informative. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment of the trip. The Māori performance was one of our favorite parts. I loved the hobbiton tour. The glow worm cave was very interesting.

Karthik was an outstanding tour guide. Our number 1 priority was completing the Tongariro Alpine Crossing and Karthik (and some lucky weather) made certain we were able to do that! We talked to people who were unable to get onto a shuttle because the shuttles were booked or were told the crossing was closed and consequently, missed the hike. The day before and after the hike we’re also filled with exciting activities. Karthik was able to make suggestions based on our preferences. I wish we had hired Karthik for our entire trip!

This trip takes about 11 hours. We were picked up at 6:30am and were dropped off back at the hotel by 5:30pm. A bit of a long day but not too bad.

The trip starts from Auckland to Waitomo Caves which took about 2 ½ to 3 hours. The trip from Waitomo Caves to Rotorua took about 3 hours.

Our driver from Auckland & Beyond Tours, Jason was a responsible driver, professional and he was very patient. I normally tip the drivers as you can appreciate the long driving they have to do and keep focused on the road.

The only suggestion I would like to point out to Auckland & Beyond Tours is that if they can stop every 100 minutes (1 hour and 40 minutes) as this will give the passengers some opportunity to shake their legs and get some fresh air.

Weather: We were in Rotorua and Waitomo Caves in early December but temperatures were dropping to 10°C at night and during the day it goes up to 18°C. The locals have told us that summer in New Zealand starts in late January and temperatures do not go over 30°C.

Make sure to have a jacket and a cap.

This gets all of the highlights of the north island packed into a very small timeframe. I would suggest a relaxing day before or after booking this trip. The caves were the highlight of the trip. Seeing all those glow worms was like seeing all the stars on a pitch black night. Food was great and everything was very well organized.

Overall, this was a really good tour. However, there are some pro's and con's to be aware of.

This tour was a great value for the cost. Fairly cheap but with a lot included. The additional excursions were fairly cheap as well but really fun. I feel like we saw and did so much within a one week span of time. The cultural Maori experience was particularly special. My partner and I are in our late 30's and we were worried we would be the oldest people by far but we were not. Many people on the tour were our age or right around our age. Most of the accommodations were centrally located.

Some of the cons- Expect your typical hostel accommodations. Nothing special. We did the private room which was nicer. I was surprised that the free breakfasts that were included on this tour were basically the tour operator purchasing breakfast foods from the grocery (i.e. cereals, bread, e.t.c.) and transporting them to the hostels. Tours I had been on in the past included meals usually meant through the hotels or restaurants or something. Our tour guide didn't seem particularly enthused or upbeat during the entire tour.

We enjoyed a wonderful 10-day trip as a family. Since we had our child with us, we decided not to drive and instead booked a ready to start tour. I was skeptical at first because there were no reviews, but I took a chance as I couldn't find any other tour offering so many worthwhile activities. As we believe activities you remember for life and not the drive. And OMG, I'm glad I booked this. I couldn't ask for more. The trip was so smooth and relaxing as the guide planned each day carefully, and the accommodation was excellent. You never felt overtired or like you did nothing.

From the North Island to the South Island, everyday felt like it couldn't get any better, but the next day always surpassed the previous one. The guide was very caring and took care of every single detail. We found the vehicle was tidy and organized every morning.
If we felt thirsty, he had bottled water.
If we were hungry, he had snacks.
If we wanted to take picture, he was ready to click.
If we wanted to upload them on social media, he had Wi-Fi.
If our battery was low, he had chargers.
If it was raining, he had ponchos.
    Everything was handy.

Our son loved the snacks and was very happy with all the activities. This became one of the best trips of our lives. I highly recommend Waimate Journeys!!

We had an incredible experience with Waimate Journeys. After exploring the North Island last year, we wanted to explore the South Island. We booked flights to and from Auckland for a better deal and chose a private tour to relax and enjoy the journey. The entire trip was smooth and relaxing. Booking this tour was the perfect decision, especially since winter driving in a foreign country can be difficult and risky. Out guide expertly managed everything, ensuring our comfort at all times. He coordinated our transfers to and from Auckland perfectly.
When my partner had a sore arm, our guide seamlessly adjusted our activities, offering alternative options. Everyday he provided bottled water and snacks that were very convenient during our hike, as we enjoyed them at Glacier Lake. It was unforgeable experience to eat at Glacier lake surrounded by breathtaking glaciers. Guide took beautiful photos, and spotted Kea birds, enhancing our adventures. He also shared interesting facts about the places we visited.
The highlight for us were The Mt. Cook Hooker Valley Track, Te Anau Glowworm Cave and Milford Sound Cruise. I must say I didn't see any trip who offer Te Anau Glowworm Cave and Milford Sound Cruise in single trip but we were thrilled tp experience both in single trip with this Tour.
In summary, this tour and guide exceeded our expectations with their planning, flexibility, and personal touches. I highly recommend this tour for a hassle-free and enriching travel experience in New Zealand

Summary: Our 3-day tour and overall experience with ExperienceKart Tours New Zealand and its owner/driver/guide, Karthik, was fantastic! I honestly could not come up with a single complaint. This was my family’s first trip to New Zealand (Me/Wife/18-year-old son), and we were so happy that we chose to start off our vacation with this fabulous “chauffeured” tour of some of the popular north island sites. Karthik, as our 3-day driver and guide, definitely did his part to ensure everything went smoothly and is great to talk to during the driving portions. Karthik handled all of the arrangements for the various site tours and activities, including checking us in as we arrived at each site. We never had to stand in line. We highly recommend ExperienceKart Tours to anyone who wants to see various north island sites while leaving the driving and travel plans to someone else. The rest of this review is lengthy, but if you are really interested in a fantastic option for seeing beautiful and unique parts of New Zealand with a great tour guide, I recommend you take the time to read about our adventure.

We booked the Golden Triangle Experience with ExperienceKart for June 16-18, 2023. This was a three-day tour, leaving from Auckland, of some of the popular sites on the North New Zealand island, including Waitomo Glow Worm Cave, 2 other caves, Te Puia geothermal valley, Maori cultural experience/lunch, and Hobbiton. When booking, we were given a couple of options for the afternoon of our second day, and we chose the Ultimate Canopy Zipline experience. ExperienceKart took care of the arrangements for all the individual tours and activities. The booking process was trouble-free with quick and helpful responses from ExperienceKart (allowing for time-zone difference). Unlike other bus tours from Auckland, this is a true 3-day tour that minimizes over-all driving time by taking you to the more central town of Rotorua for two nights. We were responsible for arranging for our hotel in Rotorua, though ExperienceKart can help with recommendations and reviews to find the hotel or Bed & Breakfast that best serves your needs. We chose the Novotel Rotorua, which isn’t necessarily budget friendly, but was a wonderful hotel on the lake and across the street from the restaurant district (Eat Street).

Before I get into the details of the tour, I just want to explain why we decided to book this particular tour in the first place. When we decided to take a family vacation to New Zealand, we identified all of the sites that we wanted to visit. While Auckland has a lot to see and do, many of the unique New Zealand sites on the North Island are several hours from Auckland by car. The best options seemed to be renting a car and doing a lot of driving, or doing single-day tour bus trips that spend more time on the bus than at the sites. Since I am from the US, the idea of spending a significant portion of my vacation learning how to drive on the left side of the road, in car that has the steering wheel on the “wrong” side, on streets and roads that I am not familiar with, was not appealing to me. I wanted this trip to be stress-free, if possible. So, when I found ExperienceKart via on-line searches, it offered the perfect alternative.

Our tour started with an early morning (7:30) pick-up at our Auckland hotel. Karthik, our guide and driver, showed up in a large Mercedes passenger van. June is off-season in NZ, and this was listed as a private tour, so we were the only people on this particular trip and had the van to ourselves. ExperienceKart offers shared experiences (much smaller than typical bus tours) or private experiences. Not only is Karthik the driver, he is the owner of ExperienceKart Tours and very dedicated to his business. Currently, he is a company of one, so we were smart to book the tour several months early. Karthik helped us put our over-night bags in the van and we were off to go visit the cave systems a few hours south of Auckland. And this is where the benefits of this tour approach started. Traffic getting out of Auckland was bad. Construction and/or accidents had backed up the major road going south. Karthik pointed out that the large bus tours out of Auckland (that we could see on the road) will stick to this road and may not make it to the caves at their assigned tour times. In which case, the passengers might be out of luck. But, Karthik was using GPS routing and found a route that bypassed the traffic. During the drive, he shared his knowledge about New Zealand with us, talking about culture and pointing out various sites along the way. Karthik is very friendly, quick to answer questions, and uses a microphone system to ensure that all passengers can hear him.

After a quick stop for bathrooms and coffee, we made it to the Waitomo Glow Worm Cave in plenty of time for our reserved tour. This is a review of ExperienceKart, so I won’t go into details about each activity we did. I’ll just say we were not disappointed by anything. After the Glow Worm Cave, Karthik drove us to the nearby Aranui and Ruakuri caves for two additional unique cave tours. After the caves, started the 2-hour ride to Rotorua, where Karthik dropped us off at the hotel. We were on our own for dinner, but invited Karthik to join us.

The next day Karthik picked us up at our hotel and took us to a few of the public Rotorua sites, including the Government Gardens and Kuirau Park Mud Pools. Karthik walked these sites with us, providing various tid-bits of information and taking family photos. Definitely a nice bonus beyond our scheduled activities. We then drove to the Te Puia Geothermal Valley for our walking tour of the hot springs and geysers, and Maori cultural experience. A great lunch buffet was included with the tour. Karthik then drove us to the nearby Rotorua Canopy Tours and we spent the afternoon walking through the lush forest zip-lining, and walking over swing bridges. Karthik then took us back to the hotel in Rotorua where we were on our own for dinner.

Karthik asked if we wanted to be picked up a little earlier than planned on the third day so that he could drive us to some of the nearby sites before heading to Hobbiton. We agreed and he took us to see the local Redwood forest and the Blue and Green lakes. Unfortunately, it was raining, so we did not get out to explore these areas and the lakes were not as beautiful as they could be. However, after the trip, Karthik did send us beautiful pictures of the lakes. It took a couple of hours to get to Hobbiton, raining all the way, but we made it early enough to enjoy a coffee before our scheduled tour. I was glad I didn’t need to do that rainy drive. Just as the tour started, the sun came out and we had a wonderful experience (definitely a “must-do” if you are a LOTR fan). After the tour, Karthik picked us up and drove us back to Auckland, dropping us off at our hotel.

All told, this was a fantastic way to see parts of New Zealand. Karthik and ExperienceKart made this part of our vacation stress-free and very enjoyable. If we ever return to NZ, I would definitely use them again for planning other tours to different parts of the north island. I didn’t know this at the time, but Karthik can help set up a unique experience beyond the ones that they list on their website.
