Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

What travellers are saying
- Cat Nine Lives13 contributionsI recommend visiting before 3PM during the weekdays. And visit first thing in the morning during the weekends. The rush is crazy after school and traffic can be chaotic.Written 14 February 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Todd P1 contributionGood food and drink. Overrun with Romulans. Would have liked to see more authentic Vulcan foods like Gespar fruit and big bowls of Plomeek Soup.Written 26 December 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Marie RLas Vegas, NV111 contributionsThis was my first visit to Auckland and we were visiting our son studying at the University. This area is close to the Uni, shopping and some pretty good restaurants. The area feels safe and is pretty clean. Would recommend it as a place to stay for other travelers.Written 30 April 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Naresh1936Mumbai, India358 contributionsConvenient shopping for home and farm, everything under one roof, reasonably priced, but sometimes the desired brand or make not be available.Written 15 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Christine WChristchurch, New Zealand174 contributionsGreat layout, easy parking, lots of eating options to suit all tastes. Not as busy as St Luke's but great variety of shops.Written 8 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sue1 contributionLovely building but sadly lacking in nice cafes with barrister coffee. Nice garden at rooftop. Expensive shopsWritten 31 May 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Diane CAuckland, New Zealand144 contributionsTasty, generous meal but 'slopped' onto the plate, Feel presentation could be improved, especially as prices have increased since last visited.Written 22 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RobsnzAuckland Central, New Zealand35 contributionsDined at CanTing. Lovely view over the harbour. Delicious crispy duck wonton, beef fillet, kung pao chicken, pork bao, and the best spring onion pancakes. Save room for a pineapple bun. Only negative; coffee served in a huge thick clunky mug.Written 20 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jan FTaranaki Region, New Zealand21 contributionsFrom the pictorial menu, I chose roast duck on steamed rice as the meat looked juicy with a crispy skin and a delicious looking thick sauce over the top. What I got was half bone, thin tough skin, vile tasting meat with a runny nasty flavoured sauce. The meat, if you can call it that was mostly fat. Even the rice has bits of bone in it. It was the most disgusting “meal” I’ve ever had and it went in the bin.Written 3 September 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Family FoodsAuckland, New Zealand320 contributionsLocated opposite Aotea Square this wee food court is a perfect stop if you have a show to go to nearby at either the comedy club or Kirk Te Kanawa centre.
The unassuming street front means that it isn’t always packed.
The food court is located at the back, plenty of international choices to choose from.
This is the second time I have gone to have dinner before a show, better than the hustle and bustle of the other eateries nearby.
Toilets are clean and tidy (door code required from any of the shops)
Food court kept clean with staff clearing and wiping down as soon as you leave.
Next time you are going to an evening show I high recommend you check this place out for the convenience, we arrived at 5:30pm for a 7pm show on a Saturday , we had plenty of time to dine and desert before strolling across the road for the show.Written 25 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Multiple levels of shops including the Warehouse on the top floor at one end and the Cinemas near the other. They also have multiple entrances including ones on Great North Road.
They do have a food court with a variety of different foods.
The mall is quite nice and clean and not too difficult to get around. Large selection of shops including quite a few dollar stores (and a $2 or less store).Written 3 January 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Part of it is an inside mall and part is outside village. Food court, fast food outlets and dining options, movie theatres, supermarket, furniture and home wares, beauty, sport and recreation, it's a one stop shopping destination out East Auckland.Written 12 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AcinetoAuckland Central, New Zealand23,972 contributionsThere are quite a few food outlets here including Ampersand, Brothers Beer and Saku Saku. There are a few spots in the front area but it is usually full.
We stopped by for lunch at Ampersand and took a look around since we were here. There are a few shops around as well as a Farro supermarket. It's not very big but does have quite a few options for either eating or shopping.Written 6 June 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
